You're welcome. Hope you have fun! :)

How did I find it out? Well, I downloaded Hexen demo and tried to play it with DOSBox. Then I found out and posted here the exact settings that I was using, so that it might work for you, as well (or for anyone using DOSBox).

I believe you can convert them to MP3 if you have the game CD using Musicmatch Jukebox.
OR extract them from the file Hexen.wad with a WAD extractor you can find with some Google search. I've never done it before, so I may look into it later.

Anyway, it seems a guy did all the job and put the full soundtrack here:

I got some trouble again.

I finished the game, and i installed the expansion called 'Deathknights of the Dark Citadel' and when i started the game, it worked but when i clicked new game and selected my class i got the EXACT same game as Hexen beyond Heretic (non-expansion). Same level, same monsters, same starting location.

I searched the internet and you should start in a whole new location, and a whole new world.

What do i have to enter in DOSBOX this time?

(If I'm not mistaken) The expansion has a separate executable which is hexendk.exe. Just type hexendk instead of hexen in DOSBox (after mounting c, etc).

Here are the problems in screenshots:

Starting the game with DOSBOX.

Image

After that you get the menu, starting screen (not in fullscreen mode)

Image

A quick peak into the game, first level which is the SAME level as the non-expansion Hexen. With certain colour bugs

Image

Starting normal Hexen WITHOUT the expansion, is the exact same location

Haha, your above post was completely unnecessary, as I've already found your problem. :D

You need to patch Hexen (to v1.1), BEFORE installing Deathkings Expansion. The patch can be found in the Deathkings CD. Install Hexen, Hexen Patch and Deathkings - in that order. After that, hexendk should work.

Here's what I did:

1. (Using Windows XP/Vista/7) Go to My Computer and then Drive C:

2. Delete the folders HEXEN and HEXENDK

3. Now, put the CD of Hexen into your drive, and install Hexen:

- Which drive to install to? C
- Press Enter when you see \HEXEN
- The directory does not exist! Create it? Press Y.
- When installation completes, a blue text document will open. With your mouse, click File > Exit

4. We already now this part, so you should know what to do. At the end, Hexen will automatically start, but we're done here. Quit game.

5. Now install Patch v1.1. HOW TO DO: The patch should have a file named INSTALL (INSTALL.BAT). Double click it. The setup will look for HEXEN.EXE (Leave it alone until it finds it by itself OR manually find C:\HEXEN\HEXEN.EXE)

- Which drive to install to? C
- \HEXEN and press Enter.
- A text document will open. Press ESC. The patch will begin to install now. Wait until it finishes. The Window will automatically close when the installation completes.

6. Now put the Deathkings CD. Install Deathkings:

- Which drive to install to? C
- Type \HEXEN instead of \HEXENDK and press Enter.
- It will ask Overwrite? for 3-4 files. Press Y to all of them.
- The window will close.

7. Now launch DOSBox.

mount c c:\
c:
cd hexen
hexendk

Enjoy.

It WORKS!!!

but no music, sound is perfect but no music, and the Hexen/setup will take it to the Hexen beyond heretic setup and not to the deathknights setup

edit: and how the controls? i got '/' as jump which sucks i want it on 'x'

Funny thing is, I just noticed I don't have music either. I found out on Wikipedia that initially there was no music in Deathkings, but a patch corrected this issue and allowed us to enable music. The patch can be found here:
http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=7022
(Extract the files into your Hexen folder and run/install PATCH)

As for your other question, Hexen and Deathkings share and use the same Setup file, so that's ok. Now, to configure controls you need to run the Setup (mount c c:\, c:, cd hexen, setup) and select Configure Controller. There you can change your keyboard configuration easily.

I did it but it can't patch it, It appears with one message: Installing Hexdd.wad and then it disapears. So fast that i can't even read or screen shot it. Do I have to install the game AGAIN to make this patch work?

edit: I installed it again, and it still didn't work.

No, you don't need to re-install the game to make the patch work. And yes, the patching is quick (I experienced the same) and it works for me. I now have music in Deathkings. Oh, and the version is still v1.1, by the way, in case you get/got confused. This patch doesn't change game version.

(Note: When extracting dkpatch files, did you overwrite the old files? If not, then do so.)
