When was the last time you played Master of Magic?

Because we play other games too.

When was the last time you played Master of Magic?

Unread postby Sir Alock » 07 Jan 2010, 16:03

Hi All: I built a WINXP gaming rig for the basement. Anyway...I decided to install DOSBOX & play Master of Magic. It's been years since I jumped into this game & it's still a very fine game! Just the pure depth of spells & units is overwhelming! I so wish we had a updated MoM2. I know Age of Wonders series is semi-close, but nowhere near as detailed from a building standpoint. I started playing @ 2:30PM & saved my game @ 3:15AM last night. It's still an addicting game!

Just wanted to know if anyone was played MoM as of late!

Geez...I posted this thread back in 2010. Since then I bought the GOG version & works like a charm in WIN7 Profession 64-bit. Still an insane deep game & holds up well after all these years.

Yeah. While I did like Age of Wonders franchise, it was nowhere close to the complexity and depth of Master of Magic. Too bad no one was making its sequel or the likes.

I have been playing mom about once a month since ... well since I first bought it years ago.
off course now I am using a free copy from one of the abandonware sites on my dos-box.
I love old games I still play civ1 and colonization also though not nearly as much as I still play mom (though I play a game of civ4, or its mods, at least once a week).
they just don't make games like they used too.

it hard to believe no one has tried to update this game or even make one that is similar in all that time!

master of magic is just a freaking classic!

@OEA
Many tried but they don't have license. You may start with Eador the Genesis, Lords of Magic SE and continue with Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes. :)

But there never will be the same setup. These times are gone.

Sss'ra started casting Armageddon Spell. :devious:
