Dragon Age

Unread postby Ethric » 07 Oct 2009, 17:56

Anyone getting it? I've preordered it as a matter of course, it certainly has every chance at being great. Just got an e-mail it's delayed till November though.

Yeah it looks pretty sweet. I'd buy it if I had a computer powerful enough to run it

Can't say I'm a fan of the DLC-mess that's so popular these days. What about saving the creative effort for one good solid expansion, instead of piecemeal stuff.

I agree, I'm not a big fan of DLC's either. I guess DLC's are more, uhm, "profitable" than expansion packs. :disagree:

Profitable is an honest argument, but given how convoluted some DLC's are to obtain (Windows Live, anyone?), it doesn't actually deter anyone from obtaining them without the hassle of the paying process. Whereas a proper expansion, with everything available in one go... I'd rather pay for that than horse armour :S

Yes, that would be the rational choice. But, unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that gamers aren't always rational. There are many people that are willing pay extra bucks for these "extra" kind of stuff. Game addiction is also a factor. And when you think of it, developers/companies do gain more money (though arguably not very much) for minimum-to-zero effort.

The character creator is d/l from the main site as a demo, and if you upload your character you get a nifty ring with +1 to all stats when the game comes out.

I am pretty hyped for Dragon Age. Too bad my computer sucks (it can barely play Heroes V on minimum settings), so 360 version with inferior control and no user-created content for me.
Back from the dead? Maybe.

*walks through the THRT door*

Heeeeeey!

*smacks door*

Hows these forums going? Loooong time away from here, too long..

Whats this? Dragon Age huh? Good that you took my idea Ethric :|

;)

I was just about to...

Aah screw it.

Im planning on getting DA for both the PC and my XB 360 :D
Yeah Im a heretic and loyalist on both sides. November the 6 and Im stuck in this hopefully great game from Bioware.
Interesting that BW used Star Wars and D&D as a learning curve to get a hang of great PRG's, huh? Making their own babies, Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I tried the CC on my new Acer Aspiron 5739G and it ran smoother than a rollercoaster may I say! I highly recoomend that laptop, top notch. At least in Norway it got an discount, not many days after I brought one... typical :disagree:

Oh! I bet some of you may know, bu heres links to useful pages regarding DA, update your master post Ethric if you care.

One regarding a flash based Dragon Age where you can get items for your 360 copy, dont know if there gonna be in-game rewards for PC though...

http://www.gamebanshee.com/previews/dra ... ins3-2.php

Gamebanshee got some interesting things going on too about DAO.

Gamespot score: 9.5 8|

The PS3 version received 9.0, while X360 got 8.5 which I admit puts a smirk on my face.
