Where do you guys play online?

Unread postby timagalant » 13 Jul 2006, 15:05

There are many people here, and I assume you guys don't play vs the AI all the time.
I was just wondering where you find opponents? Because the gamespy room is mostly empty, or with people that had never heard of equilibris.
Any server or program I haven't heard of?

Tima.

GameSpy has always been the only place... and I have never seen more than 10 or 15 people online in the lobby (and that was back in 2002). People got sick of waiting for the game to transfer data between turns (even on broadband), so they gave up on it. I read somewhere that Equilibris used to be the norm for the Heroes IV games at the Tournament of Honor, but now that Heroes V is released, they dropped support for Heroes IV completely.

It's quite hard to believe there are so many people on these forums, eagerly awaiting the release of the next mod, and not ONE plays online.
It's been a while since I saw humans in the Gamespy.

Sorry but there are a lot like me, who never have and never will play online. However there is a large market for that and I hope that UBI ends up doing it right, so the franchise survives. As far as Equilibris its online time may have past.

Don't be so skeptic about multiplayer.
I used to be like that. But the AI stopped providing even the smallest resistance.
Playing online is SO much better. Seriously.

Do you still play against the pc?

I play against AI rather then with live persons. I'll rather give AI 100 Megadragons, 500 Sea Monsters and 1 Blackie then wait that people make their turn and think if his skills aren't a bit to high for me.
So and so, I only play user made map (with good stories f'course) which are well balanced.
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

I enjoy S and M maps in hot seat, while I prefer L and XL versus AI. Since AI is virtually nonexisting, the computer opponents should be scripted, of course.

There are always neutrals on Champion, I guess. Sadly, in H4 the combat against a company of Sprites guarding a Sawmill is usually harder than the final battle against a company of Megadragons. :D

No, he has lost it. Probably because he plays on novice and gives his hero a lot of bonuses. Heh, those cheaters.

Isn't that what the editor is for? Dropping six relic artifacts and a grail right next to your starting town?

Wanting to play H4 online with someone...

Unread postby Cyra » 27 Aug 2007, 18:39

I've been playing Heroes for a long time and I would really like to try an online game against a human opponent. If anyone is interested, please let me know. I'm available most evenings and weekends. My home email is bvwalker@comcast.net and my AIM name is The Gilliom. I have both the Winds of War and Gathering Storm expansions plus I use Equilibris 3.51.
Thx
Brian

Hi Brian, check out my signature. Don't be discouraged if there's no one on for even a couple of days, because people are busy and these games require a substantial amount of time to be invested into them, so that's why. See you there sometime!
