Hello gang!
Now that I get to see that the whole team is hard at work at figuring out how to both install the main game of H4 + adding the Equilibris Mod. onto Win. 10 Home Edition, here's the question of the day: Have you worked on inserting an installer launcher for the main "Complete" title of H4 then including an installer launcher for the mod. right after the main game is installed or, have you planned at inserting an installation pop-up window for all options that are part of the main game's installer program?
Here's a little hint: Contacting the devs of the O.S. called: Windows 10 Home Edition could greatly facilitate the creation of such installer launcher program.
;)

Well, for me it does work. Although I have GoG version and it seems to be slightly different.

It would be interesting if some win 10 owner could check out this solution http://www.celestialheavens.com/forum/14/15586#p365262

As suggested by Karmakeld I removed the equip.aop from the data folder. I then added in the equilibris artifacts into the equilibris editor manually. The equilibris editor now works under win 10. :oex: It is very tedious looking for them in the object list; does someone have just a plan map this is populated with all of the equilibris items so they can easily be dragged in the object pallet or just a simple list. I already put the barbarian wall items, witches ring, Griffin helm and the fixed wagon quest hut; that may be the complete list of equilibris objects. It's been too long. :disagree:

Spirit of Oppresion is lacking.
you can find the hidden Objects on CH, so I believe that covers it.

A new problem;win 10 on my windows surface the editor runs fine using the delete equip.aop. However on my gaming laptop using the same win 10 version, when trying to edit scripts the new edit and remove buttons are absent. You only see the listed scripts and the OK cancel buttons. Ideas?

Try the H4MG ;) Although it can't edit / create all script types, so it won't help if you are trying to script something it doesn't yet support.

That does seem to work, but it is so different I will need to go watch the youtube videos to learn it. 8|

I can't find the thread where the link to those tutorials were mentioned. :(

At the bottom of the first post there are links to the pages of the walkthroughs for the different features.

I think the biggest difference between the H4MG and the H4 Editor is that you can go directly to whichever script you are looking for, rather than have to click through all the containing scripts to get to the one you want to edit.

The new / edit / remove buttons should be the same as the H4 Editor.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Is there any thought to updating the Heroesminimapper? In windows 10 I cannot get it to capture the entire minimap regardless how I set the settings. I have to chose which 2 borders (1 top or bottom and 1 left or right), I wish it to crop. I am creating a world map of all my Dragon's Fate maps (including sequels and prequels) and frequently cities along one of the borders or key terrain features end up cropped from the picture.

@jeff
It does work for me, though I still need to shift the minimap coordinates, after OS reboot. It shouldn't matter that I use it for H3.

What exactly does the minimapper do? Just save the minimap to a jpeg / png?

It captures the minimap screen that is displayed in the editor. The problem comes when you go to settings; it has a button to select Win9x or WinXP. The difference is the X,Y corrdinate settings that shifts the screen up/down or left/right. Unfortunately neither buttons shifts it properly for Win10 or Win 7 or 8 for that matter; my problem is no matter how I shift it; the entire map is not displayed. I messed around with the compatibility setting in Win 10 and found if I run the editor in 640x480 compatibility I can do it. So it is now just an inconvenience; since using that resolution sucks for everything else.

Though I have found I can't use full screen in Equilibris as the bottom row of your army (when spawning on the bottom part of the screen which is the normal location) can't be seen; so auto combat becomes the only option.

Well, the H4MG pretty much shows the minimap as the main map, at least as far as terrain is concerned. Maybe I could see about being able to export that as an image? What else, besides terrain, needs to be shown? Towns, etc.?

This seems like something that might not be terribly involved and I could potentially have time to do if you don't have anything else that works.

At least the image I see in H4MG has very poor resolution. If you look in the HIV map download section all of the maps there have screenshots, and I believe they were all done with HeroesMinimapper. CH policy in the past was those screenshots were a requirement to have the map uploaded. Anything you come up that captures map details as seen there would be satisfactory. Small Bmp files are what it produces, and the quality level need not be too high.

Well, take into account that the H4MG viewing window is a bit larger than the icon sized minimap displayed next to maps in the download section :D Also, the H4MG window is displaying the actual map grid, so it may appear that the resolution is poor, but it's actually setting colors down to the pixel.

Map size also has an effect on how things look in the H4MG window. If I view a small map, then the resolution appears poor (grid is much larger), whereas viewing an XL map looks very detailed.

What size would the Bmp files need to be? Java seems to have pretty simple to use support for creating Bmp files from constructs I am already using.
