Organizers functions: publishing of all the necessary information using website, controlling tour deadlines, players and referees notification (news etc.) via forums and e-mail, technical control of the champ website and all necessary software, Hamachi networks creating, providing all possible help to players (any consultations, technical troubleshooting, solving of the time mismatch problems).

Referees functions: complicated problems solving (save checking, stopping argues, making decisions about deadline breaking etc.), setting technical results, moderating quarrels and so on.
Referees list can be extended with additional persons or even fully corrected before the tournament starts.

SOFTWARE, SETTINGS, MAPS

Game version — Heroes IV Equilibris 3.51. Any other game modifications are prohibited.
Recommended network software: Hamachi, GameSpy or direct TCP/IP connect. All players have to log into according hamachi network to give all referees an universal ability to connect to each player or control each player activity.
It is recommended to use ICQ or MSN to communicate to each other (forum messages or e-mail will have less importance against instant messengers if any argue is present).
Referees can offer not more than 5 maps for tournament (items can match). Any player can add not more than 2 maps to the whole maps pool (after referees maps publication). Players can add their maps for 7 days. The whole maps pool will be blocked after these 7 days end and private poll will be started. Only tournament players can vote, and only one vote can be given by each player. Poll length — 7 days. 10 chosen maps will be used in WC 2009.

TOURNAMENT FORM

WC2009 will be carried out using Double Elimination system with Finals of the Four (winners finals + losers finals, each to each). Winners will have an advantage against losers: they can choose a map for the game. Standings table size depends on number of registered players. Sortition should be made by referees. 8 best 2008 players (by WC2008 results

DATES

July 1: publication of the complex tournament information (regulations, referees maps), opening maps pool for adding, tournament registration opening.
July 7: maps pool blocking, poll start.
July 13: poll finishing, publication of the final maps list.
July 20: sortition results publication.
August 13: start of the championship.
Every tournament round should go in 14 days. First player (in the pair, hosting player) is responsible for the game. First player should notify referees about opponent’s absence. Referees should receive prolongation claim not later than 1 day before current round ends. This claim has to be made by the first player (host). If any difficult situation present, then referees have to solve it (using voting if there is no unanimous decision).
Any player can ask for a long time absence (vacation or some other reasons). Such claim should be given not later than one week before absence starts. Referees have to examine long time absence applications in the individual way.

TOURNAMENT RULES

Referees should prepare champ rules not later than 21 day before tournament starts.
AWARDS
All first four players will receive awards. The winner will receive Champion Cup. Next 3 will receive sertifications.

Voiting for World Championship 2009 Maps is finished.

29 players was vointing for maps (58% from all registred players).

Thus, games of World Championship 2009 we will playing on next 10 maps:

For first 8 pairs: WC 2009 1-8 (password WC 2009)
From 9 to 16 pairs: WC 2009 9-16 (password WC 2009)
From 17 to 24 pairs: WC 2009 17-24 (password WC 2009)
From 25 to 32 pairs: WC 2009 25-32 (password WC 2009)

TOURNAMENT FORM

World Championship, Celestial Way и Altars of Knowledge are linked tournaments with three prize-winning places in each. This tournament series will be carried out using Double Elimination system without qualification rounds. The first and the most important tournament is World Championship. WC have Playoff — knockout system. On picture nicknames of host players have [red]red color[/font], nicknames of still not-active players have gray color. This picture is updatable (last update 19 September).


World Championship losers will go down to second tournament — Celestial Way (playoff — knockout system with incoming players from main championship till semifinals start). On picture nicknames of host players have [red]red color[/font], nicknames of still not-active players have gray color. This picture is updatable (last update 19 September).


Three winners of the World Championship and three winners of the Celestial Way will participate in the Altars of Knowledge (AK). AK — is short torunament including three matches (world champion against celestial champion, 2nd against 2nd and so on) for Archmage’s Altar, Guildmaster’s Altar and Expert Wisdom’s Altar.


Thereby these three tournaments are Double Elimination tournament with finals of the six.
Standings table size depends on number of registered players.
Sortition should be made by referees. 8 best 2008 players (by WC2008 results) will be sowed. The rest of players will be assigned in the alphabet order. Players that came from the same countries will be placed as far away from each other as possible. Thats why we have not enough statistics from WC’08 to distribute all players.

TOURNAMENT SERIES SCHEDULE

July 1: publication of the complex tournament information (regulations, referees maps), opening maps pool for adding, tournament registration opening.
August 1: maps pool blocking, preparing poll.
August 12: maps poll start.
August 21: poll finishing, publication of the final maps list.
August 25: registration closing, sortition publication, maps preparing finishing.
August 28: start of the championship.
Every World Championship round should go in 21 days.
Every Celestial way round should go in 14 days. First round and semifinals in Celestial Way should go in 21 days. These rounds length was increased because of New Year holidays and to avoid tournament gap.
Altars of Knowledge should be finished in 14 days after Celestial Way ends.



First player (in the pair, hosting player) is responsible for the game. First player should notify referees about opponent’s absence (not less than 5 days until current round ends). Host player will get technical lose if there was no notifications and explanations about broken game. Also host can get tech lose for modified maps using or maps, that doesn’t exist in tournament maps set. Such maps can be used only after referee’s permission (all gameplay advances should be discussed with referees).
If any difficult situation present, then referees have to solve it (using voting if there is no unanimous decision).

1 place: World Champion rank, World Cup (personal Cup) and mark “World Champion” (Grail – personal mark).
2 place: Silver prize winner sertificate, silver prize winner mark (Sword of the Gods – challenge mark).
3 place: Bronze prize winner sertificate, bronze prize winner mark (Adamantine Armor – challenge mark).

Celestial Way (CW)
1 place: Celestial Champion rank, Celestial Champion sertificate, Celestial Champion mark (Boots of Travel — personal mark).
2 place: Celestial sertificate II degree, Silver prize winner mark (Equestrian's Gloves – challenge mark).
3 place: Celestial sertificate III degree, Bronze prize winner mark (Surefooted Boots – challenge mark).

Altars of Knowledge (AK)
1 place: Archmage rank, mark of Archmage’s altar (Archmage's Codex – challenge mark).
2 place: Guildmaster rank, mark of Guildmaster’s altar (Guildmaster's Compendium – challenge mark).
3 place: Expert Wisdom rank, mark of Expert Wisdom’s altar (Master's Spellbook – challenge mark).

Registration on World Championship 2010 finished! For registration on Celestial Way 2010 we need know your nicknames, ICQ, MSN, e-mail and country. We have no much place for registration and it will finish before 18 september.
