Necromancer keep

Unread postby arturchix » 27 Nov 2006, 17:00

In Dark Messiah necromancers have a castle under their control where their boss Arantir is working on a necrosorcerous scheme to destroy the humanity. While playing the game, one can only wonder, how awesome the DM dungeons would look in the next Might and Magic RPG game!

The writer who worked on Heroes 5 and partially on Dark Messiah, has written on his web page ( http://www.jeffspock.com/stories.html ) that he is working for an untitled fantasy game. His page shows that he has worked only on three games total, all of them being ubisoft's titles and two of them Might and Magic games. So, according to that, it is quite possible that this "untitled fantasy game" has something to do with the Might and Magic brand.

That's one of the game's best levels. The atmosphere is great, and everything looks so huge.

Of course, every self-respecting necromancer should have their own dark and mysterious dungeon in which to perform various rituals.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.

Yes, this was one of the best levels in the game, probably tied 1st place with the last dungeon Necropolis that might be honored with a PotD somewhen later.

You couldn't have said it better - there are some nice torturing chambers as well, with a bonus of some zombified humans you can use as a training practice.

We will see MM10 one day - I don't believe Ubisoft acquired the M&M brand solely for HoMM and one action game.

now i know half the community here would want to burn me alive for this statement, but if it would look even nearly as same as M&M 5+, only the old fans and reviewers would buy it, meaning a fiasco to Ubi.

I don't understand what you mean Vhilhu.

If Ubi made a M+MX using everything that's great from Dark Messiah(which is pretty much everything) and combine it with a good storyline, that would be an extremely good game.

You can't say that only old M+M fans would buy the new M+M game, because if the game was very similar to Dark Messiah in atmosphere, wouldn't all the DM fans be eager to play it as well? There wouldn't be any fiasco involved.

The only fiasco that could occur is if Ubi turns the game into crap by leaving out the good stuff from DM and putting in new stuff that doesn't work, like they did with H5, which is why it didn't turn out as good as some had hoped. Ubi has everything they need to make a fantastic M+M game, its up to them to screw it up.

"where their boss Arantir is working on a necrosorcerous scheme to destroy the humanity"

How innovative :)

I like being surprised with interesting solutions in game development :P

Aye, that's indeed a small reference to the Necrosorcerous Rex.
