Solmyr Returns in Ashan

Unread postby Angelspit » 06 Sep 2006, 14:29

By playing with the game textures, Marzhin plans to bring Solmyr the Wizard back in Ashan in a custom campaign. The artwork was created by Jean-Mathias Xavier.

Solmyr or Solymr Ibn Wali Barad? I'd prefer if he had the full name myself, but it's up to Marzhin and Co.

Oh, and he really shouldn't have that much hair pls.

I'd prefer a combination of the two: Solmyr ibn Wali Barad. It just sounds better, IMO.

>> Oh, and he really shouldn't have that much hair pls.

The artist made a combination of the versions of Solmyr in Heroes 2 PoL (where he has full hair) and Heroes 4 (where he has some sort of ponytail). We tried to make something original while staying true to the character. After all, a djinn can alter his appearance at will... ;)

Solmyr/Solymr probably sounds the same in arabic. And Solymr is the correct spelling. Just like Darkstorm is the correct spelling of Darkstorn.

"of Solmyr in Heroes 2 PoL (where he has full hair)"...
.....and wasn't a genie. ;)

I can live with it, but he needs more blue. He was always a pretty dark shade of genie.

I agree, darker blue on the skin, I also think he could use a different hair style, it looks kinda James Bondish, not fitting for a hero. ;)

Otherwise, really cool!

And how can he return to Ashan if he's never been there? Is that part of some story you're working on M.?

Solmyr Bond, hehe! Well yeah he needs a more bluish, darker skin color, I can live with the hairstyle, though no hair or ponytail would be better. The face loo0ks very nice, very close to solmyr indeed, maybe a bit younger in the look.

>> ThunderTitan : And how can he return to Ashan if he's never been there? Is that part of some story you're working on M.?

Actually the campaign is taking place on good old Axeoth (I should have paid more attention to the title of the PotD), so many other heroes will be back...

>> DamianLucifer : Why didnt you use HIII one? That one looks so majestic!

Actually I always found H3 Solmyr is the worst of all. He's just your average cliché genie, you can almost hear him singing "Friend Like Me"...

I can't really understand all the nagging! Come on, people, this is great! I personally love the work so far. Perhaps you could be so very, very, very nice to make (some) female models for the various classes too? Pretty please?
