The Map of Ashan

Unread postby Angelspit » 18 May 2006, 02:07

Here is the lovely world map that comes with the Collector's Edition of Heroes V. If you look closely, it includes a few hints about the factions of an upcoming expansion pack (more about that later). Thanks Jerrie/Labyrinth.

Now where did you get that silly idea from? :devil:

And a scaned version would be better.

Hehe, yeah it looks alot like europe, dwarves and elves in the scandinavian part of Ashan it seems. TSC represent Africa, Heresh Italy, Greece etc. And Ranaar = Russia :D

Grimheim is Nordic then....think that Grimheim is home to the Dwarves. It says in one campaign cut-scene about not getting help from the Dwarves.

Oh, my map :D

Thanks for hosting :)

PS: And it DOES look like Europe :P

PS again @AS: I have that shot in a size of like 2500+ px width. I can send it by mail, if you're interested. (Otherwise you'd have to shoot your own map ;) )

Good. In the Czech republic, the map will be even in the standard edition- along with M&M IX and an energetic drink

Europe? Bah... So predictable. :tongue: To me it looks more like a certain continent also oriented towards the west, with the elves in the north-west and the bad guys in the south-east...

Also, I wonder what's with that awkward shape towards the eastern part of the continent, that isthmus-like area. Why is it like that? What's on the other side?...

That one was modeled after europe as well.And this one looks a bit weirder,somehow stretched.

Well the idea of an Europe-shaped continent kinda reminds me of Warrior Kings. Europe was placed there in a medival + fantasy setting...

@jerseys:
There are 2 lands that don't match any known factions: Grimheim and Ranaar. We're thinking Dwarves for Grimheim and Free Cities of the East (Humans/Air Dragon) for Ranaar.

So it's probably a mage town, right? What I like to know is where the Orcs settled. Somewhere in the East the Academy history says.
