H7 Collectors Edition
They are already marketing merchandise even before the game itself has gone beta. Really greedy and shameless.

It's not really greedy or shameless, but the way business is done these days is troubling.
I've seen it with many titles where they offer all this pre-order bonus junk, then game is released (often unfinished or awful drm; followed by threads of raging customers) and I can't help but wonder why people were naïve enough to trust in the responsibility of the company to deliver a finished, high quality game to begin with. Maybe in game developers minds they think they can sell their product before people realize it's terrible or they think they are combating piracy by selling the game before it's released. Idk.

A figurine of a knight, really? At least be a little creative and make a figurine of a cool monster.
Re: H7 Collectors Edition
Yeah. If you place that figurine on a shelve, it won't make your mind drive direct to HoMM at all. And, thinking a couple of microseconds, there's no use to it.vicheron wrote:A figurine of a knight, really? At least be a little creative and make a figurine of a cool monster.
I do prefer bonus content that we can actually use often.

Add another vote to....WHAT!?
A Collector's Edition should be for a game that...exists in hand. Goodness me, it used to go this way; "That game is so good I must have a CE."
To what new depth will Marketing sink?
"I have an idea and it's going to be great! Think I'll sell a CE of my idea before anyone can use the thing and I've done no work yet. You see, then I'll know if I should proceed with the idea.
I suppose the success of Kick-Starter started all this.

Come on! If enough people are ready to buy a cat in the sack, they will be given the opportunity. It's a perfect market.markkur wrote:To what new depth will Marketing sink?
I don't see why you blame marketing for it.
