The Phoenix
The last neutral creature of the week is from the champion tier. Needless to say, its name is the phoenix.

An artist's rendition (at least I hope so) and not an actual in game view, otherwise it is pretty poor. I was hoping for something more along the lines of the NWC H-5 phoenix. While they have the right of artistic license I have always thought the phoenix as a beast of fire. Though a hot flame can be blue.

it looks pretty good, I was just pointing out that it's blue instead of red lool
Re: The Phoenix
Yes, except for the colour it looks really great.MMXAlamar wrote:it looks pretty good, I was just pointing out that it's blue instead of red lool
Of course they had to change its colour since it's associated with the moon. Wait, why didn't they associate it with the sun in the first place? o.O
The Phoenix
It looks great. Moonix may not be a new high fantasy twist (or?) on the classic firebird but I like the concept alot, something fresh for a HOMM game to have.
dark@ WELL, maybe because they wanted to do something new?
michi@ totally agree there, it makes sense.
Funny that the negative/whiny/unargumented comments are from some of the freshest of members around here, no offense but I find it inmature and hollow.
But like with you jeff, I can totally agree with you there, it would be really nice to see the most fabolous of the phoenixes come back into action, UBIHOLE have to give the phoenix a chance to rise from the ashes!

Looks good to me.
The color is also not a problem: blue fire exists and, quite honestly, seeing something that looks a tad bit different then usual is sometimes a good thing.

Orfin. I assume you are talking about my COMMENT that I hate it. That is not whining, that is simply my opinion. By the way, I have all of the Might and Magic games and have played them multiple times each. I also bought Heroes I when it was hot off the presses many years ago. I own all of the Heroes games and expansions and even two of the collections: the Platinum Edition (Heroes 1 - IV) and most recently the Heroes of Might and Magic Collection (Heroes I - V). I have played through all of these and most of the fan made maps and campaigns. I doubt that there are many fans who have been with the series as long as I have. So please, just because someone doesn't constantly comment on this forum, don't assume they are the "freshest of members".

Another crap looking creature, I've lost count now. The gameplay sure better make up for it.

I don't understand the argument about "wanted something new". So? Couldn't they create something new? Changing something just for the sake of change, sure doesn't look like "something new" to me. Apart of it being an easy solution, I don't see why someone would want to change something that fundamental. Is it inventive? No. Does it look good? That's really anyone's take. I'd really prefer something more akin to Fantasia's (2000) Firebird. This looks more like a blue hawk than anything else. It would be cooler if it wasn't actually named "Phoenix".
