Inferno Landscape

Unread postby Kalah » 10 Feb 2011, 09:20

This landscape looks suspiciously clean for Inferno. I guess they hoovered it before the photographers came to visit.

Seems like less cluttered version of homm5, which is good thing since in homm5 it was sometimes very hard to see available path on lava type terrain

I think I saw that eye and tower somewhere but where? :P

At last something new on picture - shrine or crypt, blue orb building and if I see corect water and earth elementals.

yup,
But I do think that the demon and dark elf towns should always be under ground by default; unless you generate a random map with no underground.

I think RNG in homm5 (I think in 3 too) always (or at least had increased chance) generated dungeon/inferno underground already Though it usually made them undesirable choices as underground had less ways to expand than surface, thus initially accepting extra limitation because you chose one of those factions. In preset maps, I think it should be on map makers conscience.

Looks kinda out of place. I was expecting ashlands, not dirt.

I actually really like the lava landscape in heroes 5, this is somewhat of a letdown.

@Mirez: Don't worry, this screenshot does not show the "real" Lava terrain ;)

It indeed looks less cluttered. That could in turn speed up the gameplay. Nice work.

Since it's dirt, I bet it literally speeds up the game :D

Had me worried there for a bit. I was thinking "Needs more fire..." =)

"Worse?!... Or better?"
