Screenshot from Master of Monsters 3 Special Edition - only released in Japan - a turn-based strategy game created before HoMM. It was first made for the Sega Genesis in 1988-89. Thanks Hellspawn.

*sigh* ... that was supposed to be funny.

As you can see here, Master of Monsters was the original inspiration for BfW. Based on the MoM screenshot posted today, it looks like Dave (the original Wesnoth developer) did a fantastic job creating a game that goes well above and beyond expectations.

The Sega Genesis version of Master of Monsters got a better rating than the PS1 version.

I agree astral.

The PS1 version was crap. It had no charm at all.

Too bad M.o.M. 3 has no translation that I know of.
Holding on is easier, then letting go.
