yes, but it came out before BfW...
*sigh* ... that was supposed to be funny.
As you can see here, Master of Monsters was the original inspiration for BfW. Based on the MoM screenshot posted today, it looks like Dave (the original Wesnoth developer) did a fantastic job creating a game that goes well above and beyond expectations.

The PS1 version was crap. It had no charm at all.
Too bad M.o.M. 3 has no translation that I know of.
