Yeah, it's nice... And the trail is also fitting, I think.

I think the trail is too colorful and to thick. It could be that purple but thinner or maybe dust colored and as thick as it is now but maybe it's different when you see the whole animation.

It looks like he's chilling up there drinking wine or something. remindes me of the king in Aladdin =D

Must be the so-called "hero trails" we'll be able to track other heroes with. Maybe it gets thinner every day that passes by so you can tell how long its been since someone has been on your turf.

Anyway, it really shows how large level 7 creatures appear onto the adventure map. Just look at the size of that Collossus(left of the Academy hero/this will be the new name of the Giant in HoMMV).

It would kinda scary and intimidating to see one of those onto the battlefield(s).
Earth is a large world.
So does our egos and opinions onto everything.

So, it will be Colossus into Titan instead of Giant into Titan? S'okay with me I guess, no real difference. Maybe they will introduce other Giants into the game like Mountain, Ice, or Fire...

Also, the fact that there will be a size factor will be cool. Can't remember where I saw it, but there is a pic on the internet of 3D0's last work, and first on the old h5. Its a pic of a phoenix, and it was kick-ass cool, and really big. i'll try to find the website it was on.

Aha, found it. Its on www.heroes.ag.ru/news/march2003. Scroll down and there are some pics. Theres one of a bridge fight where units are not on the bridge, there's some dragons fighting, and then the would-be H5 phoenix and necrotown made by 3DO. Theres some other neat things as you go further down.

I hope being on an elephant doesn't mean that its significantly slower to move around on the adventure map.

Oooh! Wow! O.o

O_O

I didn't think it was an Elephant! Urgh... somehow it looks ugly. I would so much have loved a tiger or panther or a flying carpet.... but well, okay. I think I will like the Ele es soon as I ca move him around myself ;)

Phanters,Tigers? Hey the Academy folks live in a desert not in a jungle.

A elephant slow? No they arent ever watched Animal planet, seriously you just want to go to a elephant and piss it off, get ready to run for your life if you managed to get the elephant angry then =D

About the hero trails. I read that the more powerful the hero is, the larger and more colorful will the trails be.

Cool. But The Wizard is not.

However, this is good to get all 6 original towns known. Can't wait for info on the promised 5 for the expansion pack(s).

I agree the dust is weird.

Cool Idea! Sort of like those old nordic tales of gods and giants!

Hey, mabey town 8 will be a midgard style town?

Ugh, heroes won't participate in combat? That's what I wanted since Heroes 1 (and the reason for me getting bored of the first 3 in the series quite fast) and what I liked most about Heroes 4... Bleah, so HoMM5 will probably be something else I'll just play around with for a bit and then forget about...

Looks good for me. It reminds me why I still like Homm3, two words, Fortress and Inferno. B-)
