Fantastic guide, I was really hoping somebody would make this.

Two minor things: 1) When creeping, you can kill hordes of golems very easily in the first week. Saboteurs can stop them ever even moving.

2) Armageddon most definitely does heal Magnetic Golems, I think it's the protecting-allies ability that doesn't work with it.

Thanks. Yeah I had written the guide early and those things slipped my attention when I got some more TotE games. Will edit.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I won some nasty fights in ToE's Academy campaign using magnetic golems and armageddon. It surely works, and great to wipe out neutral encounters with a small army... If you have a LOT of mana.:)

Still, nice guide.87

Actually most of my battles including Biara I won with armageddons, works terrific with phoenix feather cape and warlock's luck :) And campaign or not you usually DO have the mana. Arcane training is always good to have just in case.

And some Sar-Issus relics. Those cheap little spells... And if I'm correct, there's a destructive magic and fire specialist wizard too - I can't remember, perhaps Faiz? I suppose I should try him.

Actually banish is not that good a choice anymore but it can still help. I just wish it consumed half initiative only.

Excellent guide Elvin. I just don't understand what you mean by " leadership decreases puppet master duration each time they get good morale". I don't notice it and its not in any manuals. Do you mean

1) Each time an enemy stack gains a morale boast, the puppet master duration decreases?

2) Each time the puppeted stack gains a morale boast, the duration decreases?

If its 1, then I would max out leadership as orcs. If its 2, there's no point because I just act my next turn faster. Then as orcs I will avoid leadership.

@sylvanllewelyn,

if you really wanna know the answer to that you can check out the manuals at the link below and read up about Initiative, Morale, and how ATB works in combat to determine the order of creature's turns (check the "Main Game Mechanics" section):

http://www.heroes-fr.com/en/fan_manuals.php

The "light" versions have a much smaller filesizes and load faster because they use lower quality images, although honestly I can't really tell much difference. They are functionally equivalent and all the content should be the same.

I'm currently working on an update, had plenty of time to test the balance and my opinion on many things has changed. After hundreds and hundreds of games on the duel map you get a good idea of what works and what not, see things in percentages. Most sections are to be revised.

Eeeexcellent... Oh, I think that in the update you should mention how you felt before, to track the change. :) And you can send pictures to my kalah@ch address and I'll host them on the server.
