Dark Messiah: the CH Review

Unread postby Angelspit » 30 Nov 2006, 16:00

There is one common problem with many reviews of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic on the Web: many writers who usually review first-person shooters or role-playing games have been selected to review the game, and in some cases they seem to have focused on one area of the game only. Only a couple of games managed to successfully mix action and role-playing elements, but when it is done right the results are particularly satisfying. As veterans of the Might and Magic series, arturchix and I decided to bring you our own review of Dark Messiah (without any major spoiler). Our views are certainly biased a bit, since we have followed the development of the game for months and taken part in the beta test, but we hope the article will be a nice addition to some of the cold-hearted reviews out-there.

We'd like to hear what other Dark Messiah players think. And while you are there, please have a look at this thread: we have an interview with the writers of Heroes V and Dark Messiah in the work, and we'd like to invite you to ask your own questions. If you want to learn more about the world of Ashan, its history, its characters and its major events, Jeff and Richard are there to provide answers.

A nice long, and more importantly, thorough review. But maybe a short descreption of some enemies, weapons and spells would be a nice addition as well(though a few enemies like spiders were described).

Thank you. Well, CH already published a guide on DM monsters and some stuff will follow later as well.

I don't think they do, even if Ubisoft used that technology in the past, according to Wikipedia. Anyway, you spend much more time around rocks and pillars than trees in that game. Byt why do you ask?
