Dark Messiah Multiplayer Preview

Unread postby Angelspit » 18 Jul 2006, 14:38

Ubisoft was kind enough to allow me to publish my impressions of the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic multiplayer beta test. As a veteran of the Heroes series, I saw very little Might and Magic in that game, but a very high potential. Even two months before its expected release date, the Dark Messiah beta is more polished and stable than most game demos I have tried.

Cool preview! I'm looking forward to the game even more now. Still a pity there is no connection to HoMMV story wise. In the previous M&M RPG's it was always fun to uncover storyline connections with the Heroes games.

Let me clarify: the single-player storyline *will* tie in with the Heroes V plot. I was just saying that there's very little of that Might and Magic feel in the multiplayer part.

DMM will surely be the gem of the franchise, It may look like an simple FP slash'n smash but beneath the skin I bet the gameplay will be alot deeper.

Thanks for the great preview. I was not expecting to like the game, but I may have to change my mind.

It does sound rather enjoyable. Might have to try it if people here are favourable towards it's final release (I consider you my personal guinea-pigs now :D ).

Excellent preview, AS, much appreciated... I'm agreeing with VortexD, was fun to uncover storyline connections e.g Erathia's battles in mm7-homm3 etc.. Can't wait for this one though! *hopes desperately for balance in multiplayer when it's released*
