The classic 10 big myths about copyright explained is also a worthwhile read. Also, copyright laws are almost universal thanks to the number of international treaties and bodies in the area.

Copyright is one thing, politeness an other :)

Then I'll wait permission for translation (and I'll add the link and references for this original post, then I won't feel "work stealer".

Yes, please don't get me wrong. I wasn't trying to indicate that CH was going to go around suing people for posting a translated guide, but everything we post here is copyrighted, contra what was said, and it is polite to ask even apart from the legal position as you pointed out.

like I said, we 99% of the time have no problem with stuff being reproduced as long as it is done so with proper attribution. it's also nice to be notified so we can give you a news post if it's of interest to our readers :).

If one wishes to go by the law, it's still infringement. I, for one, wouldn't mind my PDF:s being hosted at other places than CH if I've been asked first.

The guide has undergone some minor adjustments and corrections, most notably the missing part of the Summoning Magic description ;)

Just to ask you something, ppl: Do you know how to split one army in two or more in HoMMV? Like, you know, when you have let's say 50 scouts in one army and you want to have an army of 30 scouts and an army of 20 scouts. Is this possible in HoMMV?

The rest is great stuff, really =)

No, as per 1.2, luck rolls do not apply to empowered spells, and that's great - you have to choose between steady 50% more damage using empowering, or get a lucky double damage casting usual spell (and save some mana too).

BTW, It's The best guide I have seen so far. Infiltrator, would you like to write one about Haven or Sylvane? I'm sure, it would be very helpful)
