New Face of the Genie

Great News!!! One of Heroes of Might and Magic fansite: The Genie’s Lamp has gone through a whole new makeover, and it looks beautiful. Sir Charles from The Genie’s Lamp have been working long to re-design the interface of the Main Page and other features of the Genie’s Lamp.

I find it amazing to see a once fledgling fansite going through many changes in a short period of time. Great work, Charles!!!

Oh come on, it still looks like ****. Don't get me wrong, the site is great, but the looks are nothing to desire.

The only thing i don't like is the background tiles. Image

I like the fact that it has a simple design. Sure it's not impresive but it works.

It ain't easy to design a website. I had a friend who spent three hours on it and only come up with the background color. Patience, soon it'll something like Celestial Heaven.

It's good to see changes.

I actually think it looks pretty nice. Note bad for a solo-job.

it looks rookishly simplistic. but it isn't cluttered with links and is kept simple.

celestial heavens was kinda hard to navigate when I was new to it. CH looks better but the genies lamps is easier to look at.

to each his own.

I am also working on a HOMM site. IT IS ONLY IN ROMANIAN!!!

I am working alone and the Heroes5 section is the most complete of all (H1, 2, 3 are not even started)

Definately not optimized for larger screen sizes- half the page is background...

It is an impressive site to be the work of one man though. But I can hardly see how a rewamp of one fansite qualifies as "Great News!!!"...

I liked it, I'm just missing the lamp or genie, that's why I post it ;)

Hehe. I see that Celestial Heavens has jumped the gun a bit. That design was FAR from final. You can see the final design up now for the main page. Other pages will soon follow suit.

Is the background supposed to be pitch black? Doesn't look very good like that.

You people certainly are critical. I love the finished look of the main page, and the black doesn't bother me at all. It's no different than CH, as a matter of fact. I look forward to seeing the finalized version of the other pages.

IMO it contrasts too much with the rest of the stuff.

Earlier today it had the H3 Castle no-buildings panorama at the top. Where's that gone?
