Shodan at #1: Hooray!
Someone important should read this and strongly consider producing a new System Shock.... but please make it a proper RPG, not a nextgen-console-shooter-eyecandy.
I so damn loved SS2, unfortunately since XP service pack 2 it isn't playable anymore.
Has someone a clue how this could be worked around?

1, Tried changing the compatibility mode?
2, Or better: tried "How To Run System Shock 2 on Windows XP" in google? Because I did, and was (system) shocked by the huge amount of information it found...

I haven't played many of these games, but...
I agree that Garret definitely deserves a place on the list.
Guybrush could easily take LeChuck's place.
Morte is a character you both love and hate.
And SHODAN is the best character, yes. Can make you a bit sceptical to computers and such. Fighting an omniscient computer makes for one on the best gaming experiences ever. And to celebrate, here's a big picture of her: SHODAN - warning: hueg like Xbox.

I maintain nonetheless that yin-yang dualism can be overcome. With sufficient enlightenment we can give substance to any distinction: mind without body, north without south, pleasure without pain. Remember, enlightenment is a function of willpower, not of physical strength.

@Ravenheart87:
Yeah, i tried dozens of ways (multiple times *sigh*), but finally none worked out (didn't want to stress that out too much in my former post because it's rather offtopic)
Just hoped someone here could possibly come up with a solutuin new to me.
Never mind.
@topic:
What i especially like on the article is, that the author is really capable of describing what made Shodan that unique and that she wasn't just the strerotyped "A.I. just went crazy klichee".

I think Kerrigan would have deserved a place in the best characters...
