Skill Wheel 3.0.1 Update

Unread postby Angelspit » 01 Nov 2007, 19:27

<img src="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/images ... lwheel.jpg" align=right vspace=10 hspace=10>Aurelain sent me the newest version of the <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/520">Skill Wheel</a> (the page includes links to the various translations) with the following details:

<i>"People requested the feature of saving the Skillwheel configuration, so I implemented it. From now on, the Skillwheel will start with the settings from the previous time you used it. Furthermore, there is a right-click menu that gives you several advanced options. I also fixed three bugs in the skill relationship, which people on CH spotted."</i>

You can download the new version and overwrite the one that came with the Tribes of the East disc; links can be found at the bottom of each page.

If you would like to take a look at the original page visit this link:

Just wondering if the link is correct or I'm doing something wrong, but I always appear to be getting version 3.0 from the download.
I THINK SO THEREFORE I AM

The version number has not been changed, but if you can load and save you are using the correct version.

Maybe a silly question, but which version of the wheel should be used when playing the good old 1.6 version of the game?

The old one, 3.0 version has a reworked skill path.

Skill Wheel 3.0.1 Update

Unread postby Nebo » 08 Nov 2007, 00:05

Aurelain,

Regarding v3.01: First, let me say how awesome your creation is! I play HoMM with the wheel open in the background….so many decisions to make. Second, I like the new save feature as well. Bravo! I would, however, like to point out some possible omissions as well as request another feature. The possible omissions are as follows:

Nur: missing Arcane Excellence, Distract, Arcane Omnipotence

Jhora: missing Distract

Kythra: missing Divine Guidance

Svea: missing Sap Magic, Fiery Wrath

Gilraen: missing Preparation

Ylthin: missing Refined Mana, Nature’s Luck

Anwen: missing Preparation

Ossir: missing Elven Luck, Nature’s Luck

Garuna: missing Absolute Rage, Excruciating Strike

Zoltan: missing Lord of the Undead, Mentoring, Howl of Terror

Lucretia: missing Distract

Alastor: missing Distract

Nebiros: missing Flaming Arrows, Urgash’s Call

Marbas: missing Preparation

Jezebeth: Counterspell

Of course, these are assumptions based on what skills the majority of other Heroes of their type have.

The request would be to add a comments field to either side of the wheel that would also be saved upon close. This would come in handy for the campaign heroes. Which reminds me….what about “Campaign Only Skill Wheel” that would include all (and only) the campaign heroes. I thought this email might prove to be useful (if no one’s inquired about such yet). I hope at least the omissions will be reviewed and corrected as necessary. Thank you for you time and such a wonderful tool.

Skill Wheel 3.0.1 Update

Unread postby Ravenheart87 » 08 Nov 2007, 09:07

Nebo, if you take a look on how abilites are connected to each other, you'll recognise, that for example Ossir is unable to learn Elven Luck. Elven Luck requires Resourcefulness and Soldier's Luck... And poor Ossir begins with Magic Resistance, so he'll never learn neither Elven Luck, nor Nature's Luck. Poor Ossir.:(I suppose this is the problem with the other heroes you mentioned.

The campaign only skill wheel is a good idea, I hope we'll see one soon.:)

Thanks, Elvin. I take it that my old 2.1 will work just fine then.

@Ravenheart87

Oops, you sure are right. I badly missed that fact. My apologies. Somehow, Ossir with Elven and Nature's Luck was too good to be true... I checked several others I mentionned and the same was true. How dare I doubt Aurelain's masterpiece! Long live HoMM, long live Aurelain :)
