Catching Up on News

Some <a href="/viewtopic.php?t=7039&start=45&postdays= ... unexpected events</a> prevented me from updating the site earlier. But here I am again, at least for a few hours.

<li>The <a href="/http://www.gamershell.com/news/41159.html">Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East Trailer</a> is displayed at Kotaku (and various other locations) and includes some reader comments (I always enjoy reading what people think of the Heroes series outside the core community). The trailer is by far the best Heroes trailer to date, and it is made with in-game footage only. It reminds me of the goose bumps I got watching the opening sequence of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and asking myself if Ubisoft could someday do something similar for a Heroes game.

<li>According to some sources, Dark Messiah Elements will be delayed until the holiday season. TeamXbox has a <a href="/http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1 ... p1/">short preview</a> from GC 2007 with very little new information. One can wonder if the multiplayer mode will work well this time again: "Ubisoft is particularly tight-lipped about Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: Elements’s multiplayer mode, but they have confirmed that twelve players will be involved and can choose to play as one of four character classes. Twelve total players is four down from the PC version, but Annecy claims that this is a strategic move to make the experience more cerebral and less like Battlefront with swords."

<li>The <a href="/http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 485">third developer diary</a> on the official forum deals with the Blood Rage (a fancy term to describe the state of mind of a baby when you attempt to give him or her a bath).

My inbox is a mess and I have a lot of work pendind, including maps and articles. At this point I can only ask the kind folks who submitted stuff to be patient. I will get to it eventually!

Yes, blood rage seems better balanced than I had thought it'd be. Of course the units' stats must be known to see how it will affect them, but I don't think it will be as over the top as I had thought it'd be. Dungeon's and Necropolis's new melee alternates will be useful against the orcs. :)

Good trailer. Finally, some good music to set the mood.

I'm glad Arantir will be making an appearance.

Yep. Couple of years ago I used to share Angel's hope of a Heroes game with such cutscenes. The game itself may not be what I wanted, but I do admit the vids finally have the quality I had in mind. :)

They do look great! Still not sure about the other Titan though.

Hopefully they don't give him an existing speciality but an original one (unlike Freyda & Duncan in HOF).

"Unexpected"? Come on, she's been walkin' around looking like a minivan for months now - surely you noticed... :P

Maybe he thought she just put on some weight and didn't want to say anything as not to make her self conscious... or it might be the premature birth he mentioned, who knows?

No doubt the latter. Prematures are not what one might usually call an 'expected' event. ;)

But we're all happy everything went well !

Now i start to wonder if any of you play anything else except HoMM... sure the cutscenes are 100x better then in the rest of H5, but they're not that great.

The importance is in Ubival becoming better at it, not at the best cutscenes in the world!
