Forumtalk: The RTC is Back With a Vengeance

For those of you who don't know what the Round Table Championship is, it's a baby of Kalah's, having to do with European football. He lines up sixteen teams, led by members of the board, and has them fight each other in a dice-ruled frenzy of a game. The dice decide the outcome of each match, but close encounters can also be decided by the bonuses given to each player depending on which position he plays in, and against whom he plays.

When Kalah first cooked up this contest a few years back, he won the game himself, but he's an honest fellow (really!) and he swears he doesn't cheat. We believe him, don't we…? Anyway, he didn't win last year, and if we still don't believe him, he's promised to do the whole thing live on webcam as soon as he can figure out how to work it. Why the seriousness? Well, this year, Kalah's adding a little special treat: prizes.

This year, the winning team will be awarded a £15 or $30 gift certificate from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com depending on where the player lives (and yes, it has to be one of those two). Also in the bin, is a smaller gift certificate for the runner-up, as well as the organizer's old 2x512mb RAM chips for those lucky losers on 3rd place.

There are 16 slots up for grabs, and they're going fast! If you wish to participate, sign up with your team name and player position here. Once the 16 first slots are full, if there are many remaining wannabe-participants, they may be placed in a qualification round, from which as many as eight teams can be placed into two further groups. That limits the possible entries to 24. so if you want in, you'd better get a move on!
