And I thought Sylvan was bad. This hardly can be worse and better if they don't change them anymore before release and ruin them completely.

You can find the units' statistics on the UBI forums:

I was a bit disappointed yesterday by the graphics (just smoke i/o fire - that's not really what I had in mind 2 years ago when I was imagining alternate upgrades for H5), but I am relieved to see that they showed more creativity with the names and the change of stats & abilities. :)

I like these names, didnt see that one coming. But the devil are turned to demon, arch demon? hmm gotta be a lesser devil then but called arch demon. Damned and lost its fire, well that gotta mean lesser. Also pretty uneccesary to list Fire breath twice.

Overall great abilities but quite a loss when it comes to initiative and speed. Seems these fellas are going defensive tanking, with wicked abilities.

Heres something alcibald from HC gave an explanation to. Makes sense for those who wonder: "Why Arch Demon?"

Devils originate from the Infernal plane, and are traditionally lawful evil beings. The origin of Devils are the traditional christian mythological beings, like Lucipher, the fallen Angel, and the Devils are thus directly opposed to the Angels. The Infernal plane is also what is commonly refered to as "Hell".

*Refer to first upg set*Fiery Devils*

Demons on the other hand originate in the Abysmal plane, and are chaotic evil beings. Demons can be considered destructive incarnations of various aspects of nature - that can be Ice Demons, Fire Demons, Spider Demons, or something else.

*Refer to second, new upg set*Smoggy Demons*

The two species, albeit somewhat similar, are neither related nor allied.

Hehe, always looking for a good thing no matter how bad situation is. If only there were more people like you :)

"the smokey ones. from hellish ashlands they came, lusting for revenge and with a hatred that can be just as evil as the burning hell.

they who lost their fire once again rise up to choke the world in deadly, poisonus ashes."

I wasn't sure about this (maybe sarcasm), but cool anyway.

Maybe that's the case in true mythology, but in the M&M universe, aren't devils supposed to actually be aliens? Where do demons fit into that?

Sounds like a little of that was taken from D&D, mainly the alignments.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

@TT

Hmm.. looking back at it now, I can see how what I wrote looks very stupid. Thank you for pointing it out in your usual discreet manner. ;)

Almost all fantasy worlds borrow from D&D, whether they admit it or not. It seems demons are extraplanars, which I guess would make them aliens of a sort.

Heh it seems on the UK website Ubival has used the Sylvan instead of the Inferno stats...
