Yeah, it is hard to fool anyone on this day. Everybody expects it.

You can believe me or not but I talked with the redactor which made this info on the Polish site about the second expansion and he says that this info is real, and that the newest news was the april fool.

Yeah, that's the advanced april fool strategy: using a "decoy" announcement to hide the another one.

Heroes V second expansion announced!

Unread postby Arveragus » 01 Apr 2007, 18:15

Rubbing salt into wounds, as far as I am concerned. I was actually looking forward to the Forge town in Armageddon's Blade (Might & Magic games, especially the RPG's have always had a certain science fiction element to them, so I thought that it actually fitted the universe rather well).

The fact that this idea was scrapped and replaced by the decidedly mediocre Conflux town, has never sat well with me.

On the other hand, the news regarding the second expansion from this Polish site looks very plausible indeed.

Wild Tooth = Frenzied Gnasher from HIV expansion.

Jelly-fish = Medusa.

So, does the Wild Tooth upgrade to Bad Teeth?

Seriously, this is another joke. More credible, but I would still bet my rattles on its fakeness.

Eat my shoes with ketchup.
Just think for a moment... What day is today? On the 1st april it is not wise to make serious announcements (if it isn't vital, of course), because most people will not believe it.
While the barbarian town idea is not surprising, the choice of neutrals is way too similar to H4. Why would they want to include such unpopular (even at H4 standards) creatures like satyrs and leprechauns?

Nagas are very popular, but they don't want to include them. It's hard to say why Nival prefers those creatures from HIV than a lot more popular nagas...

unpopular (...) leprechauns
*Ahem*, I beg to differ... Leprechauns are more important than you think. Check the appropriate thread in the Campfire and you'll see ;)

Chance to announce the second addon today is very small. Almost nobody works today, and Ubisoft especially. If it is true, most likely not, it would be nice.

No. They do not prefer HIV creatures at all. The thing with nagas is that it's hard to create a half-snake-half-human modell in 3D. Too much effort for a single unit.

One rule: if your life does not depend on it, believe nothing on the 1'st april.

Nagas were replaced by the Rakasha. Nival decided that it would be better to add a unit that at least seems to be a new unit made up for the game.

It was supposed to be in Academy but later was moved to be a neutral, sadly the developers decided that the naga was too similar to the Rakasha so they cut it out.

Bullshit.

The naga was simply too hard to create.
