Rip off or not, I'm certainly looking forward to this game. Especially since I've hardly played the original.

Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Very, very interesting!

I've been looking forward to this game ever since someone on the official forums mentioned it. Very strange with the name change though. Good to see this project is still alive, but I hope they aren't forced to scrap it when Ubi gets wind of this. We need more turn-based game out there.

I smell lawsuit.

Pictures aren't bad though. Better than I remember Quest for the Dragonbone Staff being, anyway.

Ubisoft does not own the "King's Bounty" trademark.

It was DEAD for about 5 years. WOW. Bet they jumped on it as soon as they realized that.

It's good to see the old title being revived. However, the graphic style seems a bit too cartoony.

I generally like it but I wonder if it will be yet another copy of games I know. Hopefully it will have some fresh parts and a good storyline.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Maybe Ubi only bought the name of might and magic saga, but it's possible this King's Bounty, although it was the origin of it, don't belong to that name.

King's Bounty has as much to do with the M&M brand as SC has to do with Command&Conquer. Ubi bought M&M, and not anything else, spiritual successor or not.

Interesting stuff on the product page:
* middle screenshot shows us something very similar to a Night Elf
* lower left corner screenshot has an H5 griffin in the upper right corner
* spells screenshot needs some proofreading; funny spell: Smile Scull; interesting concept: bless and heal don't seem to be proper spells, but rather scrolls
* why do the descriptions of all games over-use the word 'unique'?

I'm satisfied with an average storyline if it's done good. But then again that's not my primary (or even secondary) concern.

And I also don't care if they copy, use original creatures or use known creatures in new ways. And I especially don't care if they pay attention to mythology or not.

Heroes V gameplay with some tweaks + the Kings Bounty concept is good enough for me.

Love when russian type in english :D

They sure like changing their working titles over at 1C. Not too long ago, they changed the title of 'Mythic Wars' (another turn-based strategy game) to 'Fantasy Wars'. I think this title looks fairly promising as well. 1C's site for Fantasy Wars is here: http://int.games.1c.ru/fantasy_wars/

On the subject of Battle Lord/King's Bounty: The Legend; I've had my eye on this title since E3 2006.

The official website is located at http://www.battlelord.ru/ (Hey! it now redirects you to http://www.kingsbounty.ru/)

It is in Russian, unfortunately, but you can still check out a large amount of screenshots and wallpaper, or even use GoogleTranslate to try and make sense of the Russian on the site.

You can download a trailer for the game at this location: http://www.gamershell.com/download_14332.shtml

Well, I for one didn't play King's Bounty, but this game does look promising. What I don't like is that you can only choose between Warrior, Paladin and Mage, what the heck? I wanted some evil alignments ;(

very promising, when I first saw the article I have mistaken it for a secretly developed expansion...
