Old Boy Answers Questions

Unread postby Angelspit » 13 Mar 2007, 16:17

There was a <a href="/http://forum.nival.com/rus/showpost.php ... >community Q&A with Nival's Old Boy on the Nival forums</a>, in Russian, on March 6. It was translated to French translation by Winfola of Heroes-fr. Here is my own quick list of changes that are being considered for the future, as well as changes that are not likely to become a reality:

<table>

<tr>

<td><b>Possible New Features</b><td><b>Things That Won't Happen</b>

<tr><td>Kingdom Overview<td>Nagas and Crystal Dragons

<tr><td>Hall of Fame Facelift<td>Fog of War

<tr><td>High-Level Adventure Map Dwellings<td>Speed-Reducing Spells

<tr><td>Faction Balance Optimization<td>Visiting Allied Towns (for spells)

<tr><td>Ability to Teleport Enemy Units<td>Campaign Heroes for MP

</table>

Please keep in mind that this information was translated <i>twice</i>, so there is a risk of error. Perhaps our Russian-speaking readers could tell us more about what is being discussed in the original forum post -- feel free to post a comment.

Here's something else that can be added to the "Things That Won't Happen" List:

I don't get it. How is "Visiting Allied Towns (for spells)" not going to happen? You can already do that.

Faction Balance Optimization...such an abstract phrase. Does that mean the "optimization" of runes not working as in 2.1? ;)

That's something I came up with myself based on my understanding of the answers. The original answers are longer, but I don't have time to translate everything. A direct Russian-to-English translation would be much more accurate after all.

Whoa! Scratch that thought.

I just tested this and you actually can't get into an allies town. I could have sworn you could.

How stupid are these people at Nival that they left this out and are now saying it won't be added either? They have truly crapped on the legacy of this series by leaving out critical things in the game that always existed.

My apologies Angel. My comment was directed at Ubival and all the wonderful balance balancing "features" they "provide" with each patch, such as the added bugs that plague us (as if there weren't enough of those already, they feel they have to add new ones with each patch)

Thanks for the fast translation Angelspit! I wish I could say I'm happy about them but they tell practically nothing. Nothing too important anyway.

No nagas? Aww...
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Couple additions (translated only once :))

High-Level Adventure Map Dwellings - not planned.
Autocombat modes (not using mana, shooting only, etc.) - won't be implemented.
Manage towers during siege - possible.
Alliances setup during game start - very low probability.
Spells to lower speed, not initiative - won't be implemented.
There will be at least one more patch (1.5) for original game.
Enemy stack teleportation - possible.

Well I am glad crystal dragons are not going to happen, but Nagas? We need nagas. Naga's are our friends. No speed reducing spells..and why not? Better then init reducing imo. As for not being able to visit allied towns that is too bad, but there are always the enemy towns or letting the enemy take your allies town and then you take it back :D

Actually Nagas are already in the game, only male, with blue skin and carrying a name of Rakshashas. ;)
