You like Le Morte d'Arthur and the cheesy dialouge of Heroes 5?
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Are you challenging me? Bring it on!
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

If he had what it takes then he would have been a poet instead of an author.
I think that premise is based on rather false logic. Who can really claim with any certainty why he was not a poet? We do not always end up doing what we are meant to do or what we are best at.

And you are not the first person I've heard negative criticism from regarding the poetry of J.R.R. Tolkien. However, I happen to adore it, and wholeheartedly reject the snobbish and elitist views of most 'critics'.

I have no words to express my joy. I'll just use them as will. ^^

Me using false logic? NO...

And i could look up stuff on the net, as i do seem to recall he tried publishing poetry, not that my memory is trustworthy, but i'm too bored.

I usually skip the poetry bits in the books because, well, it's frightfully boring :D That's not a slight on JRRT though, but on poetry in general ;)

I write poetry... of course I write fantasy too, so they go hand in hand most of the time.

Yeah Elvin, bring it on!
