New Maps: Silence and Hate

Unread postby Angelspit » 07 Jan 2007, 15:12

<a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/images/mapscreens/The Betrayal.jpg"><img src="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/images/mapscreens/The Betrayal_sm.jpg"></a>With 500 lines of scripts, <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/search ... rch">Tales of Silentia</a> certainly makes up in content for what it lacks in size. This beautiful tiny map can be played alone or in multiplayer.

<i>"Silentia used to be quiet and happy land once. Gates of the kingdom stood open for all races populating the continent. The only way to get there was a bridge on the Goldfish lake. It linked the country with the friendly kingdom - Nortwee, by which tradesmen travelled to Silentia from faraway lands. Everything was going wonderfully for the entire region around the Goldfish lake... However, one day, greed of Nortwee's king obscured him the right way, which he has followed so far. He made a plan to deprive Silentia her glories and to expand Nortwee's terrains..."</i>

Also up are the last two parts of the To End All Hate series. The Betrayal ("The Academy has betrayed the Inferno, and they want their vengeance.") is a large map, while The Deciding Blow ("The Inferno and Haven clash in the battle to decide who lives and who doesn't.") is small. There has been a steady flow of custom maps since the release of the map editor, thanks to a couple of very productive mapmakers, and we really cannot complain about the quality. Here's hoping that trend will continue in 2007.

Sorry it took me so long to make the announcement. And thanks for your post on the official forum. All mapmakers should do the same when they release a map.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

I am looking forward to playing it. :)
Frodo: "I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."
Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

I notice that the test queue is very short and hope mapmakers will seize the opportunity. Because of system limitations, I can't play most 'too big' maps and am hoping for some good 'very big' ones to come out soon.

I have one I plan to do myself, but will not be able to start until my new PC (!) arrives in a few weeks. It's going to be a variation on 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'.
