Nagas Spotted in Ashan

Unread postby Angelspit » 22 Nov 2006, 15:55

The Hammers of Fate expansion includes a few easter eggs, deep inside its game files. Eternor was kind enough to share a few images with us at the Round Table. The Naga Temple building, the tundra terrain textures and a couple of new spells provide hints of what might appear in the second expansion pack.

While a Naga town is a strong possibility, there is still room for speculation. What do you guys think?

When the Naga concept will be in some (more exactly in one) aspect similar to Forge Naga Tank. I think, it will be great success :D

...otherwise?

Tundra terrain makes me think more of Barbarians... But for the moment too little is known to be sure of what the plan for add-on #2 really is.

More summoning school spells :-D And Vampirism fits in as well.

I wonder if we'll get a whole town of nagas or just one....and tundra does makes me think of Barbarians.

From that Temple pic and the Naga Silksword in DM being a Katana i'd say they're definatly Japonese/Oriental.

I'd like to see a town based on Hindu mythos, but not just various types of Nagas.

But that would be too Kool.

Something like the one/s at Angkor would have been great, and they could include some Mayan designs too. And they could just make the Nagas resemble samurai a bit. Using more then one influence always makes things seen more original.

As opposed to their new town of elf infested dungeon? It's not like the other towns are so different.

I have one main thought about this and that is that I would really like to see naga's as a faction

I like the idea of a naga faction, but I'd rather have an orc/barbarian faction in the next expansion. Even better, how about both?

Let me name the most known barbarian (on Earth): Genghis Khan. (no, not Crag Heck:))
So maybe they are going along this line for a barbarian faction, with tundra (Siberia), and with oriental (China was occupied by the Mongols) Nagas.

Now the question is why to involve Earth history with the world of Ashan?
A bit strange, not so innovative (but at least not cliche as everything else in the well-established fantasy world), but it might work (magic).
(sorry for the pun)
Toto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore!
