Dark Messiah Cinematic Trailer

Unread postby Angelspit » 23 Oct 2006, 22:17

<img src="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/images ... irl_sm.jpg" align=right vspace=10 hspace=10>There's a new movie for Dark Messiah at GameSpot, and unlike the numerous gameplay videos before, that one gave me the goose bumps. It's a <a href="/http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/darkm ... >cinematic trailer</b></a> that tells us a little more about Sareth's journey and his allies. We finally get to hear what Leanna, Phenrig and Xana sound like, and there a few surprises as well.

If you pay a visit to the <a href="http://www.mightandmagic.com">official site</a>, you will find desktop wallpapers for the Mage and the Assassin, a Steam skin and a handy multiplayer Skill Tree (Dark Messiah's own Skill Wheel). You can also listen to three beautiful excerpts of the Dark Messiah soundtrack, composed by Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco. As usual, switch from the US site to the UK site to find all those goodies.

Finally, the <a href="/http://storefront.steampowered.com/Stea ... ish">Steam news of last Friday</a> reveal that <i>"the game will be playable on October 25th at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time. For the rest of the world, you'll be able to play on the 27th at 10:00 a.m. GMT."</i> The game weighs in at 10 Gig (give times larger than Half Life 2!), so if you plan to download the game, start preloading now.

So it looks like Sareth is Isabel's baby. And could Xana be Biara?!

I watched it again earlier and it's my all-time favorite game trailer. Kudos to Ubisoft, who are masters of the genre in my book.

The actual trailer looks pretty good, but I still don't get why they call it Dark Messiah Might and Magic. There is no 'of'; what happened? It makes it sound like an expansion to Might and Magic the way they say it.

Sareth might be Isabel's baby. If that is the case, shouldn't Sareth be evil? That probably means players will get to do evil stuff as Sareth, unless he is supposed to be good instead. Sounds good either way.

Isn't there supposed to be several different endings ? maybe you can actually choose between good and evil. A bit like one of the best games ever : Deus Ex.

I heard there were several endings...

And spoiler

----

----

----

Sareth is Isabel's baby and the Dark Messiah... What surprised me most was that it seemed like, what's her name, that wizzard girl is undead :| that Phenrig is evil was also expected, and that Xana is a Succupus and posibly Biara was something someone else thought of :D
But it does indeed look like that explosion that the map showed was in Stonehelm... Speaking of Stonehelm, anyone else who cam to think of Lord of the Rings when seeing that ? :D

I believe the game will have atleast two endings and that means - higher replayability for the game. :)

Don't tell me that's never happened to somebody without split personality .... and you can substitute Who for What as well
