Hammers of Fate Q&A and Screens

<a href="/http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/her ... 9241"><img src="/http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/20 ... umb003.jpg" align=right vspace=10 hspace=10></a>Ubisoft sent one of those homemade Q&As to several gaming sites, including <a href="/http://pc.gamezone.com/news/10_03_06_02 ... ameZone</a>. There you can read what Fabrice had to say about the Hammers of Fate expansion, about the number of dragons among others:

<i>"Dwarves worship Arkath, the dragon of fire, so it quite sensible that fire dragons appear to help them, just like the dark elves and Malassa. Dragons are at the core of Ashan, the world of Might and Magic. If I do the calculation correctly, only half of the factions had a dragon as a tier 7 creature, so that’s the fourth, which doesn’t strike me as overwhelming."</i>

Meanwhile, at GameSpot you can find <a href="/http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/her ... 59241">ten new screenshots of the expansion</a>, all of them in the new snowy environment that makes the game look quite different. GameSpot also has another preview of Dark Messiah, this time focusing on the <a href="/http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/darkm ... 59247">The Dead Man's Trail level</a>. They warn us that minor storyline spoilers are included, so you might want to skip that article.

4 of 7? that's a few dragons in my book .... but more importantly "Dragons are at the core of Ashan" .... must be real hot down there in the core - might work for the dwarf faction, but not too flash for Sylvan, Dungeon and Necro factions' dragons

Another dragon? Too bad Nival can't think of a more original creature for a 7th level unit.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

Is this expansion really due to be out in November? Seems awfully close to just now having info released outside of the official forums.

arguing about the number of dragons seems silly to me, the random map generator is the real issue of the expansion imo

Agree."
Yeah, they really should just make all lvl7's dragons. Angel Dragon, Devil Dragon and Titan Dragon.

Dont forget the mighty dragong dragon.
Here are a few details on one nice unit, the Berserker. It’s basically a storm of flesh and armour and pointy bits
Arent berserkers usually almost naked because armour and clothes would hinder their attacks.
One of the dwarf units is a giant dwarf indeed – ending up as quite a normal height
:lolu: Wasnt giant dwarf one of the units in the worst names thread?I mean why not have just a giant?
The dwarves are led by their king, Tholgar. He was once a brave warrior but has grown complacent and is now relying on counsellors. One of them, Hangvul, leads the belief that dwarves should only care about their own problems, and thus led them to isolationism
WWII america anyone?
Dwarves worship Arkath, the dragon of fire, so it quite sensible that fire dragons appear to help them, just like the dark elves and Malassa. Yes,4 out of 7 is not that much. Its only ~60%.A few more wont hurt. Why not just name the creature drake? It doesnt have wings anyway.

Seems like the dwarf berserker from the legacy of the drow. Not sure which book but the resemblance in stunning, except the weapons. They like RA Salvatore's books it seems with the dark elves and all.

Overwhelming? No, just boring and unoriginal.

I really wonder what he does strike him as overwhelming. 90% perhaps?

Well the Sea/Ocean Dragon and the Air/Wind Dragon still await. At least the Orcs don't worship any dragon-gods, but the Paokai/Wyvern comes close enough, they can just call it a Wyrm Dragon or something.

Why are only the Light and Chaos dragons original enough to have servants that don't look exactly like them?

Dragons are indeed a bit too much in H5 as Lvl7 units. They should then call it Dragons of Might and Magic. I do like the designers' choice for rune magic combined with resources which could be an interesting gameplay mechanic. And talking about mechanics, that would be something great as a Lvl7 unit with the Dwarfs, some kind of mechanized giant that shoots freeze rays and maybe laser eyes? Or just hacks away with a really BIG axe. Anyway my point is that technology had never been something strange for M&M, but that seems to be something lost in the Heroes series. I still vaguely recall the "Death-in-a-box" from MM2, that was somekind of robot right?

DaemianLucifer - I've NEVER saw you post ANYTHING positive about H5. It seems you despise this game, and will find something wrong with even the tiniest issue. Why are you here anyway? ahhh, right, because you "care about this game and upset that the current heroes title is so awful.." and you think that "criticism is necessary in order to imptove".... Heard that already. So great, you wont be tricked by "evil" nival and wont buy the expansion cause they try to fool you. Me? I just think its plain stupid spending so much time in bashing a game you dont even care about.

He did, but it's kinda hard to see in all the negative posts.

Thats because there arent many positive things about the game.I do,however, praise the initiative system. That might be the only thing the game is good because of anyway(though town levels are nice as well, and mob sunergies would be nice if implemented on all stacks).
