Heroes V #5 Best Seller in June

Unread postby Angelspit » 20 Jul 2006, 13:40

Here's another update about the sales of Heroes V, one that should please our friends at Ubival: industry-research group NPD Funworld posted the top-selling games for the Month of June, and after its 14th place debut back in May, Heroes of Might and Magic V climbed an impressive nine spots to end up in fifth place. It was only beaten by juggernault titles World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Guild Wars Factions and The Sims 2.

IMO Heroes V was a juggernaut title too. Of all the top games listed here I've only played Heroes. But there is nothing like good sales to start milking the cow for all its worth. Long Live Heroes VI indeed, and M&MX, and Crusaders of M&M II. OK so that last one is a joke, should never ever happen, but at the least this means an expansion set is very likely.

I don't blame you, crusaders didn't have much to do with might and magic but it was a fun action game. Slightly worse than Blade of Darkness. The combat system is surprisingly similar to Oblivion.

Good news on selling well, it means more people to play with.

It was a decent game, fun gamepay but a bit short. I still love the skeleton warriors in CoMM they were spot on. You're right about the combat system, copy-cats...

@DallasMavs; I don't think that will happen. Heroes V fell of the list of top ten in the begining of July. The sales represent the whole of June. Heroes V can only go down the list. Unless by some strange miracle people will start buying Heroes V for some reason en masse.

i'd like the sales to remain strong, and DMoMM to do well, sets up for some continued support for the MM brand
