Fabrice interviewed by Archangel Castle

Unread postby Marzhin » 21 Jun 2006, 15:34

Archangel Castle published recently an interview with H5 producer Fabrice Cambounet. If most of the questions have already been answered before (regarding the updates, improvements of the duel mode, and so on), there are also some things of interest :

On the question of the "simultaneous turns" :
FC : We haven't forgotten this mode, and we're still working on it. It will be added to the game in the future.

On the questions of fan-made mods :
FC : Mod creation shows brilliantly how much devoted and creative the fans are. (...) For the moment, there is no official support for these creations, but we're thinking about it.

About the way the game was received by fans and critics worldwide :
FC : (...) The sales are very good in most countries. The game is close to become the most succesful episode so far in terms of sales.

On the last point, did he only talk about the sales?

Its just natural for a game with such past to have large sales, but that says nothing about the game itself.

He talks a bit about reviews being more positive in Europe than in the United States, where multiplayer is crucial.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

His complete answer, roughly translated : "The game received very positive reviews in Europe, and it was very awarding (?) for the team. The most negative reviews are from the US, mainly because of the lack of stability of the multiplayer aspect at the time of the realease. But the sales are very good in most countries, and fans took the call (??) ! The game reached the top of the charts nearly everywhere, and has stayed there since then. The game is close to become the most succesful episode so far in terms of sales. ^^"

My own translation would be "very rewarding" and "answered the call", but we get the idea. :proud:

Meaning these were things just talked about in the interview or has Fabrice himself actually acknowledged we would be getting them?

Hehe :)

That why I asked if he only talked about actual sales, but I guess no producer will admit to any fault in a new prodcut.

@hein231
Because some of them are insanly overpowered.
Heck, Markal is nigh unstopable, and his campaign has a breeze (you just have to make sure you don't lose the Haven heroes when you have them).

I'll second that. Having 9,000 skeleton archers and phantom forces makes things a bit easy.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.
