Five Haven Heroes Revealed

Unread postby Biggles Final Flight » 27 Apr 2006, 16:57

Five new heroes and their biographies from the Haven faction have been unvelied on the official Might & Magic website. No familiar faces yet, but Klaus reminds me of Lord Haart.

Well, now we know that people who grow griffins are called griffherders... :)
Interesting names and backgrounds, nonetheless. I like Irina. (which is, coincidentally, my favourite female name)

Of course our vigilant members have already discovered this and put in in the forums... :) The heroes are also up in our directory.

See, this is what I liked about H4 dropping specialties -- the biographies could be interesting instead of just "This is what my special is, and this is why I get that special" :-P

Cool that they used a name from Polish fantasy novel writer, Andrzej Sapkowski. :D In his saga about the witcher, Maeve was a queen of a small country - and she also used to lead her army herself. :)
Cheers,

I'm with Sermil although they could have interesting specialities and interesting biographies. The biographies don't have to be linked to their specialities.

Actually, there was a queen Maeve(or which of the dozen other spellings you prefer) in the irish Ulster Cycle of stories, which is likely where your writer got the name from.

The biographies are good, imo. And the portraits are quite good. We need some goofy heroes.

At least Klaus seems to enjoy life a bit more than those Sylvan heroes... But comparing him to Lord Haart ? No way ! Not with that silly smile. (by the way Lord Haart always reminded me of actor Christophe Lambert...)

As for Dougal, I can't think of his name without thinking of "Father ted"...

The bios are very good and the looks of this heroes are just as good. I like Rutger because of his special, Laszlo because he looks like a cold hearted and brave heroic hero :p And finally we have a sunshine hero by the name Klaus which will bring joy in a heroic way. The females are interesting too I like Ellaine mostly because of a nice look and good backgroundstory.

I agree that Klaus seems to enjoy life more than those sylvan heroes :D

But still, he's looking weird. This grin looks like he couldn't decide if he should look happy and friendly or evil. Or like some bad (or depressive?) guy who tries to force a smile to the camera, in order to get a "nice photo".

I totally LOVE Irina!!, although those boob protectors are so darn ridiculous looking...

For Lazlo, I think he looks a bit much like this Necropolis hero with the spider on his head. A bit too much Necro. Even more with all the gray face etc.
What the #$*! do we know?

Although I would like both, if the choice was between:
1) cookie-cutter heroes with interesting bios
and
2) every hero unique, with bland bios

I will choose #2 every time.
