Where the heck have you been for the last year or so? 3D = lots of space taken by graphics. The campaign, maps and actual factions take less.

By the end of the beta, we had about 1.5 Gig to download. 700 MB is nothing.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

The music is indeed very nice. The only positive thing I've found in the beta.
Veldryn 15:15 And Vel found a dirty old jawbone of a walrus and put forth his hand, and took it, and in his unholy rage, he slew thirty four thousand men and children therewith.

works perfectly (with low settings) on my 3-years old Dell laptop - that's only 256MB DDRAM and a 32MB GeForce4. I'll try medium graphics next time ;)

Cool! You can take screenshots by pressing "Print Screen." Now I have a nice new wallpaper to my computer, but I guess I won´t test the demo any further (and spoil the excitement).. :)

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

So is this true that game works with graphic cards that have less than 128mb memory? I have 64mb on my card.

you can see your performance in the main menu (the Inquisitor and ArchDevil fight). When it gets choppy it's time to put image quality down a notch.

Myself I got everything on max except anti-aliasing that's shut down since it becomes very choppy with it enabled.

In other words, time to upgrade!

Hardware Cuser! thats what seems to kill it on my system, and I have a brand new machine almost. If you take off (or was it on?) Hardware cuser, you will notice a huge diffrence in the "smoothness" of the game. I have almost everything on high graphics and it runs fine so long as you take that off. :)

Cant wait to actually be able to "get into" the game once it comes out (learing stats, specs, playing every map etc :). Not a whole to do in the demo unfortunatly :( And it sucks that you can only play Inferno for the custom map :(

WOW, what a surprise! The beta was really not so good, beside all bugs, it was also bad performance-wise. Well well, now it runs smooth as silk, with gfx set to very high, 2xFSAA and 8xAA, at 1280*1024. Now that is optimizing. :)

Other then that, it rocks completly! Zoom goes waaaay out or in, in battlefield you can move camera almost freely, build screen is miles better, etc etc.

Game plays as every other HoMM, sounds are nice (ambient, music, etc), fights are cool, altho with all those fight and spell animations they tend to be little boring (i see myself switching to fastest battle speed), as sometimes they are quite long. Inferno gating and upgraded succubi are amazing and pit fiends fireballs smash the hell out of potatoes! :)

Oh, and on the splash screen it says Heros of might and magic V. Seems they fixed the way it was written on preview box shots. (somewhere in the forum there is a thread about it ;) )

As for my machine, the demo on the highest settings runs about as well as the beta on the lowest settings. There is a vast difference, so if you quit playing the beta for performance issues, you can probably can play the demo without problems.

So, after all, it seems like perfomance issues won't keep me from buying the game. Only Starforce will. :)

Hey do you think there is a chance the game will play on a comp with specs: Athlon 1700+,512 RAM and Geforce 2 Titanum?

dragonn: Download the demo and give it a shot. Your graphics card is below minimum, but you might still be able to play it with a low resolution and very low image quality.

Not a chance the game crashes on my comp while loading...
