<img src="/images/minimaps/Grimstalk%20Beach.jpg" align=right vspace=5 hspace=5>The first completed user-made map for <i>Heroes VI</i> has been posted on Celestial Heavens: <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/search ... >Grimstalk Beach</a> by <b>fatespinner</b> is an extra large map with no underground, designed for single- or multiplayer.
As you may recall, we reported our <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/132070 ... adiness</a> to host maps six months (!) ago, yet for all this time, not a single <i>Heroes VI</i> map has been submitted. Of course, we always say that we want <i>quality</i> maps and not just <i>any</i> maps, but the lack of Community activity and a user-friendly editor are blamed for the lack of submissions.
Still, I'd like to remind you all that we host <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/search ... undreds</a> of maps for various <i>Heroes</i> games ... and that we are keen to add to the collection. When you have had your latest creation tested and ready for publication, <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/612">send it to us</a>. <img src="/images/smiles/big%20smile.gif">

First H6 Map Ready
The lack of map submissions likely reflects the disappointment with H6 in the Heroes community.
I still play SOME version of Heroes almost every week, yet I've hardly bothered with H6 because I think the skill system is so drab and lacking in imagination... all high-level heroes end up identical enough in their skill set that play is bereft of individual personality tastes and play styles.
So sad, especially because H6 was so beautifully rendered visually.
It's as though the developers had no sense whatever about the heart and soul of the Heroes series and what has given the Heroes franchise such longevity and replayability... variety, variety, variety!
Still, I'll certainly give this fan-made map a go, so thanks Fatespinner!

Im not sure about "all high-level heroes end up identical "...in fact thats not true at all in my oppinion, after hundreds of hours of playing...
Whats sad, is the lack of sim turns and the imposibility of playing custom maps in multiplayer mode; these are the most wanted things! for sure

I complained about the amount of maps released with the game and was told that Ubihole would be making new maps available for download at later dates. Has this even occured, or was it a load of bull?
Not that I care as I dont play the game.

Actually, I wrote "all high-level heroes end up identical enough..." which is quite different from claiming "all high-level heroes end up identical..."
... But that's my opinion, based on how similar high-level heroes are in H6 compared to H3 and H5, my two favorite versions of Heroes.
... WOG is a favorite of mine as well, but that comparison isn't fair to Ubi, though I sure wish they had tapped the talent behind WOG when developing H6!
