Quiz: Round #6

Unread postby Kalah » 11 Feb 2012, 17:09

While the answers to the last round can be found here, we go straight to bat with a new round. Here you are ...

11.

a) How many Ice Demons does it take to kill a stack of 1 Ice Demon in 1 hit for sure (no spells or bonuses from heroes)?

b) The same question for Efreeti.

Assume that the big stacks do not get a morale bonus or penalty, but the stacks of one creature get a morale bonus and didn't use their retaliation this turn or last turn. The stacks of one do not defend.

12. On what army can you cast Mire spell but it will never have an effect?

Wow, these questions are getting harder.

12) In all my Heroes gaming experience, I've cast Mire only a few times. I'm guessing a Grandmaster Pathfinder with Devils in his army, since Devils are the only ones that can still cross the battlefield even with slow cast on them.

Efreeti 80 HP, 10 min dmg... so that would be 8...

While Ice Demons are 70 HP with 12 min dmg... so 6 should do the trick.

Of course that's before atk/def calculations, and i don't remember how those work in H4... both have the same or lower def then atk...

Answer time? :)

Question 11:
Damages are halved for Cold/Fire Attack and Cold/Fire Resistance and Fire Shield doesn't work on Efreeti, so:
* A stack of 11 Ice Demons does a minimum of [((11*12*30)/30)/2]=66 damage to 1 Ice Demon,
* A stack of 12 Ice Demons does a minimum of [((12*12*30)/30)/2]=72 damage to 1 Ice Demon,
* A stack of 14 Efreeti does a minimum of [((14*10*25)/23)/2]=76 damage to 1 Efreet,
* A stack of 15 Efreeti does a minimum of [((15*10*25)/23)/2]=81 damage to 1 Efreet.
* 1 Ice Demon has 70 hitpoints while 1 Efreet has 80 hitpoints, so the answers are 12 and 15 respectively.

Question 12:
A magic immune hero with summoning skill and a stack of creatures (s)he summons. This army must belong to an earlier colour than yours (like blue while you are playing green). Also, a very highly magic resistant (but not yet magic immune) army will virtually always resist the spell. Lastly, I think it won't affect stationary neutral monsters (because they don't move at all anyway). I'm not sure about wandering monsters.
