Fire Spells Revealed

Unread postby Kalah » 06 Jun 2011, 15:27

This week, the official page will reveal various fire school spells the Heroes VI heroes can learn.

Today, the two spells revealed are fire bolt and fire ball. The former is a basic level 1 spell, dealing direct fire damage to the targeted stack, and the latter is an area spell available to heroes of level 2, affecting all creatures in a 3x3 square area.

Isn't that level/rank 2 spells/abilities are available for lvl 10+ heroes not lvl2?
At least it's how I read that. :P

It does sound like it was worded wrong. I'm assuming he meant the spell itself is a level 2 spell in the magic school.

The icons for these two spells look perhaps a little too similar... I hope they can be distinguished easily enough when cast.

Hits more than one target = Fireball. Hits one target = Fire bolt. I think that's distinguishable enough :devious:

Fire Spells Revealed

Unread postby Kosh » 06 Jun 2011, 22:11

oh man the'yre really going to drag this out if they're announcing just 2 spells at a day :/ with beta at the end of the month, that doesnt seem like many spells? 5 day weeks at 2 spells at a day (guessing i know) = 50ish spells since the 28th is mid-week. Of course I'll take fewer spells if it means a greater majority of them are useful, unlike many (most?) spells of previous HoMMs. And yes I know this is veryyy speculative guessing.... but what the hell else do we have to discuss lol. And on that note... E3 info incoming???

I hope they will be smart and include Armageddon in its original Dark Magic school.

It's the first day of a campaign to reveal some spells, and they announce...this?!? Fire Bolt and Fireball. Really? How original. It's pretty much a given that these spells would be in the game. Why not reveal something special?

Actually, the next two (now released) are Fire Magic, a passive ability making the magic more effective, and Frenzy, a spell causing the targeted stack to attack the nearest stack (be it friend or foe) with extra damage - all without losing its turn.

So who wants to bet what's next? Bloodlust? Flame Shield? Firewall? Mines?

Today's spells, revealed here, are Fire Storm and the good old Armageddon. The first, which is a rank 3 ability, deals fire damage to an area of 5x5 squares. The Armageddon spell causes fire damage to practically everything; all non-infernal creatures, obstacles and walls on the combat map.

Inferno and Armageddon. Again, nobody expects the Spanish Inferno!

Armageddon seems to be overpowered, though. If all inferno creatures are immune to it, then it's simply a nuke.
