<img src="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/images ... wshorn.jpg" align=right vspace=10 hspace=10>Ubisoft's "Week of..." news policy continues, and this time it's the <a href="/http://might-and-magic.ubi.com/heroes-6 ... 1-32">week of music</a>. That means that you'll be hearing some really nice themes over the coming days. Some of them are based on earlier games of the series. Enjoy.

Perhaps he meant that they are a bit cheap. Basically, I liked them but I was expecting development of themes rather than plain remastering with small twists. When I say development, you should really hear what Tchaikovsky did in Little Russian with Ukraine traditional tunes and of course the finale of Sleeping Beauty which is a bit more of a reworking (of Marche D' Henry IV) than a development but still much deeper than these Heroes revisions.
I still like them but that's more likely because I truly loved the specific original pieces (Ocean, Winter and Grass from H2 being my favourite). In my opinion they should have used the melodies as a development basis to create new pieces rather than re-arrangement. At least of the kind of the Sleeping Beauty example, kinda like they did on Price of Loyalty (they used the credits from H2 original to create a new piece for the Knight Town, which although did not developed new melodies, tune or structure, changed the style and the orchestral arrangement).

That's even worse! That's the exact same piece with an added annoying background chaf-chaf. The only part where it has a bit of remixing development are the last 30 seconds.

I must have heard it a thousand times, that what the fans really want is a new H3, exactly the same but with better graphics. I guess if they did make that, they'd get comments like "rip-off" and "can't they make something original".

But we got (sort of) that thing - it is called HoMMV... and it wasn't good.Kalah wrote:I must have heard it a thousand times, that what the fans really want is a new H3, exactly the same but with better graphics.
