Update on HoMM Kingdoms

<img src="/http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f390/ ... k-logo.png" align=right vspace=10 hspace=10>After a long period of no news about the free online browser game set in the Might and Magic universe called <a href="/http://hommkingdoms.uk.ubi.com/">Heroes of Might and Magic Kingdoms </a>, we have finally got some news! This is what Might and Magic community developer Yaiden <a href="/http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... >writes</a> at the Ubisoft forums:

<i>"The technical beta that just ended offering a great and furious war between the Dominion, the most powerful alliance from the last 2 betas, and a coalition of several eminent alliances. We would like to thanks all the beta testers who definitely and positively allow us to tune and improve the game features and mechanics, especially the PVP aspect.

We are now launching a new closed beta to test all the new implementations and the new gameplay balance. This closed beta will be the last step before a Public Beta."</i>

If we speculate that one closed beta round could take several months, the long awaited public beta could start around September/October. We will keep you posted!

So this is how Ubisoft uses the once revered Heroes license? A browser game? Guess I will have to wait until that Horn of the Abyss beta gets released to get my Turn Based Strategy fix...

I'm sure it will do gangbusters in South Korea, where the only games allowed are Starcraft and free to play browser stuff.
Back from the dead? Maybe.

You can also wait for the Kings Bounty expansion to get partially fixed ;)...

I'm a little bit angry that the Heroes Complete Edition Beta Keys do not allow to play the closed Beta. So they make no sense and was just a marketing gag.

It will only further the marketing strategies which lead to H6.

Deadguy118 -- I think you will be pleasantly surprised by HOMMK.

Let us hope for originality. HOMM and MM are truly originals and no one needs to copy World of Warcraft's style. I think they the next beta should be fun to watch.
