MM7 goblins are too cute and handsome in some ways.
I prefer something in Heroes3 spirit - short, swifty, lean and with clubs :D
Maybe I'll model something instead of MM7 goblins.

Robert The Wise (again)

Image

A funny thing happened in The Maze while lookin' for a Bag of Bones .... Robert The Wise appears!

My guess is that it is a result of the Evil Sorceress trying to summon a Ghoul.

For what it is worth.

BTW... The Maze is one neat and interesting fist d' cuffs (sic) place! Almost an enless supply of Minotaurs due to 'the summoning'.

There are some "unsummonable" monsters, I guess.
Vampires summon ghouls too -> we've got the same Robert.

The Maze is still hard place for 60+ level party? What about dryad and elemental fairy?

Vladimir,

Both the dryad and the elemental summon properly. However, the dryad is nothing more than a distraction at this point. Perhaps you could make this creature a-bit tougher?

The Maze is not what I'd call an extremely dangerous place for a Lvl 65+ party, but under many encounters I have been forced to cast Power Cure several times to keep my party 'alive'. So it can be a challenge, particularly with the summons of new Minotaurs.

Good job on the Minotaur 'enhancements'!

After finishing the game - I want to ask advise about monsters to balance them. :)

Dryad:
She should summon an Ent (tree). Trees in Tularen must move (but they do not have proper sprites for movement and are static). Thats why they summon something else.
Minotaurus:
Yes, they are strong and have powerfull magic. Minotaurus summon has got only Lord (5% each turn). If there are too many of them -> summons can be very painfull thing!
I used to shoot them from the distance. It took much time but safety for party. Or uses powerfull spells. Paralyze helps much here ;)

Waiting painfull posts about Linkoln's Droids. They do not have summons but still are too dangerous even for 100 level party (I tested them with summoning skills, strong Inceneration skill and it was hard). Without summons they are similar like 65-75 level party.

Game Stopper

Image

I have been experiencing game crashes in The Maze, at the area encircled in RED. The game crashes in all areas where the Sorceress dwells.

My guess is that it's the summoning of the Fire Elemental.

FYI ...

BDJ

Later ... I verified that it's the Fire Elemental summoning.

Game Stopper

It's sad to say, but the summoning characteristics for all Warlocks must be removed or the game will crash in various areas (Nighon, The Maze).

Possibility:
Replace Acid Blast into Fireball, and replace fire elemental into water elemental. There was no problem with water elementals in Walls of Mist.

Vladimir,

Perhaps that will work. Just remember, different map areas have different creature restrictions. For instance, the summoned Tree Ent worked fine in The Maze, but eventually crashed the game in Nighon.

Just be careful and play test every map area where 'new' summoned creatures appear.

Good luck.

Big Daddy Jim,

will the game crash if you select 3d hardware video option?
I have founded out, that the game seems to be stable for me in deyja if I select hardware accelerated video option, maybe it is in this case also stable.

Captain ...

From what I understand, Vladimir's patches took care of the Deja crashes, so if you've installed them, the video option is not a valid test. However, here's what I am running ...

Vidio: Software 3D
Audio: Disbale Accelerated 3D Audio

I don't know if a change in Video 3D will affect game play. I'm way too far along in the game to change and 'go back'.

Game Stopper

The Land of the Giants continually crashes after the first encounter with the Titans. It can also crash after an encounter with the Devils. My guess is that the map area has exceeded it's sprite capability due to all of the summoning; re, Titans summon Hydras and Rocs while Devils summon other demons.

Don't know what has to be deleted, here. I'll revert to a previous SAVED game and head straight towards the Devil's Outpost to see if I can make it before the game crashes.

I can sacrifice hydra summon =\
Are Rocs and Demons attacking the masters too?

Fact:
All summons can crush the games. Try to go strong party inside many-many goblins in Harmondale and wait in real time while they summon...and in time game will crush as other.

I think it is problem of game engine that wasn't counted on such many monsters in the same area and when limit is off - game crushes. I wonder if it could be done in little groups killing :|

Also there is a big problem with activating summoning monsters. When you do not see monster on mini-map - it is inactive so it cannot summon anything. But if it became visible - it can summon. Problem is that you can activate summoner behind a wall and while you get to him - summoner possible to summon some guards. :ill: Like it was in Maze, Thunderfist Mountain, Sholls, :tired:
----------------
I really do not want to sacrifice some summons =( Try to kill small groups of monsters without interventing another monsters =( Even Invisibility can affect the summoners to start summon =(

Vladimir,

Yes, the Titan summoned creatures are attacking their parent. Don't know about the Devils.

I don't have time now to 'test' LOG any further. Perhaps if you delete the Hydra summons, the problem will clear up. I'll email you a SAVED Game at the exit to Eeofol, just before entering LOG. You can play test the changes from this SAVED Game.

Good Luck.

I'm about to 'test' The Lincoln.

I am unable to use the wet suits to reach the Lincoln because of the 'belt' problem. I have equipped belts on each character, and then the belt 'dissappears' on the character. I cannot un-equip the belt to put on the wet suit.

Do you have a patch that fixes the belts?

Vladimir,

I went into the SAVED Game and 'removed' the belts using a Hex Editor so that I can reach The Lincoln.

However, if the belt situation is not 'fixed', others will encounter this same problem.

Maybe some custom belts aren't fixed yet.
I fixed only 5 standart ones.
Didn't expect that many people find Titan's belt :)

vladimir-maestro,

I think you're right. It seems that the game crash if they are too many monsters there. While I not see enemy's all seems to be OK.
Sometimes it helps when I'm switching the video mode, don't know if it really helps, but it works for me.

Greetings
Captain Emo
