Might and Magic 6-8 resource editors

Well, as you remember I'm working on Maestro MOD to MM7.

I have sucseded but still have not enought resourses!!
So I want to start this topic to gather more information about game-editors.

I have mm8leveleditor v3.47
I have editor from stormcat
Also I have editor that allow me to edit movies in game


I can't open files like Magic7.vid, d3dbitmap.hwl, d3dsprite.hwl
Maybe you know programs that allow me to import\export files from\to this files?

If I had editor for hwl format - there will be a chance to replace monsters easier.

hmm, maybe i can find something useful in the source.. i go and look into it

a guy named mm8leveleditor (maybe, he made the mm8leveleditor tool?) writes about opening hwl file, but it is a very old post 2005...

and maybe you can use the MM7 debug mode: MM7_debug.zip
to use it, click on credits and open a blv or odm file.

Good but it is only extractor - no one can import into xhl format :disagree:

In order to view .vid files you first have to extract them with MM8lvleditor, you can then view those files with SmackPlayer, PM me and I can E-mail it to you.

I know how to use vid-files...Question is in Magic.vid from MM7 - it is somehow corrupted - mm8leveleditor cannot open it. I used another program for this porposes and files inside VID were corrupted (not a full name or resolution, but playable after renaming into correct form)

MM7view opens Magic7.vid for me. I'll write a program for .hwl after some time I think.
My patches: MM6 MM7 MM8. MMExtension. Tools. Also, I love Knytt Stories and Knytt Underground. I'm also known as sergroj.

It opens, I know!
But I created some new videos for MM7 and cannot inport them! Using program for Heroes do nothing - game crushed every time video is playing.

Maybe someone knows where world's tiles are coded?

Want to change landscape of Braccada into a snowy desert...but if replace textures - any sandy lanscape will looks snowy - even the sandy shores of Nighon.

So did you know where it is coded? What sets are in use on this map?
Meen in mm8level editor in HEX mode ;|
