Ahhh you make me want to write a spaceship flight into MMX...an outer space level would be amazing! Well there will be plenty of Ancients to go around!

- Has Corak from MM7 outro any connection to Corak from MM1-5 (besides name)?

both are robots from the ancients? although it cant be the same one, since he died/got stuck in the void along with Sheltem in MM5 ending.

Take your pick, knowing the level of the Ancients' advancement, they could be any of the three.

Thanks for the ideas, another question:

Is it wise to assume that this guy is a more "realistic" depiction of Corak (his ribcage does look fairly artificial...), somebody else, or just some ambiguous badass character who is not even necessarily seen in the games?

nope, Corak is blue-skinned. so i guess random bad-ass dude so you'll notice the game box on the store shelf.

I realise that, but it's hardly a conclusive principle that he would also have to be blue here, because didn't you notice that another character who was blue-skinned in the cartoony earlier games (Kastore) later appeared with white skin in the more realistic MM7. The second Corak who showed up in that game was also white.

Counter question, who is this guy: Sheltem in disguise, somebody else, or just a random halforc?

He's probably just a troll.

I don't have a strong opinion on this myself, but several websites claimed it's Corak on the cover with no basis that I know of. The counter question seems a bit disingenuous, since some of the covers like MM6-MM8 showed generic parties of generic characters, but MM4 and MM5 showed very specific characters.

Then again, the MM3 manual is supposed to be Corak's journal and it has this character right there on the cover with "A Passage Through The Isles" written next to him.

I guess I'll just say it's a possible depiction of Corak, unless someone knows better one way or the other.

It's just picture of generic hero or villain, not connected to lore in any way.
It's just box art. Same as in MM6-8, where you have random party and a dragon on it.
Or that picture of Dark Elf female in MM8, which has nothing common with Alvar dark elves.

Nah, he looks closer to MM9 halforcs than to trolls. In fact, I just meant `It's just a picture and nothing more`. MM2 has even more strange picture on the cover.

Yet Corak is bliue-skinned. Corak had white-blue skin tone in MM3 (and resembled this in MM7 cutscene, albeit with different art style). Corak is blue-skinned in all his appearances. This guy looks nothing like Corak (the hair being the only slight resemblance), both in appearance and style. Second Corak is a different character.

As Avonu said, it's just a thematic image.

Maybe he was from Pandora?
Also - there are plenty of characters with blue skin in MM3-5 (like Yog and barbarian tribes in MM5). It was something common in these games.

BTW - I was always wondering, where and when Kastore&co. sold their shuttle from Terra and bought (or stole) fully operational Battlestar?

Guess you're joking. Lincoln is the same between MM3 and MM7.

That doesn't make him not blue-skinned. Blue, like all colors, can have different hues. Or Corak assumed different appearance during his brief tenure as Kalon's High Priest, both options are equally plausible.

Indeed :) And Corak's skin isn't all wholly blue, (light-blue with shades of white) either.

Questions about several things:

- Who was the king of Deyja capped by Sandro and Vilmar for the latter to take the throne?

- Who was the new king of Erathia appointed by Gen. Kendal? (mentioned in the CotD finale)

- Who ruled Vori Elves during Gelu's expedition there? (if they were unified under one ruler, being barabarians)

- Is Agar canonically dead? All the quest- and plot-related deaths are suposed to be canonical in MM, but Agar's Laboratory is just a bonus, not having anything to do with beating the game or completing any quest. He may well have survived the heroes' visit there (if they went there at all).

- What is the fate of the Ultimate Adventurers? After MM8 JVC fell out with 3DO quite a bit (having been pushed to release games more frequently while working on HoMM4 initial build after VIII), and was barely involved in the making of MM9, HoMM4 and Heroes Chroniles. The story of those games was also made by different people (Terry Ray in HoMM4/HC, Tim Lang in IX). Hence we got that stupid "reboot" with Enroth getting destroyed by the Reckoning, which had cut many potential and interesting story branches.

One such plotline was of the splintered Ultimate Adventurers. The Light team has been exploring other Silence-affected planets with the help of Harmondale and Bracada (a woman very resemblant to Resurectra also appears in Gelu's dream and AB). The Dark team was last seen ruling Deyja, which was significantly weakened after their defeat in MM7 (Shadowspire now being the headquarters of the Necromancer's Guild). It would be interesting to find out what happened to both parties. It's also likely that Kastore's team was killed by Resurecta's in the final battle for the Web Gate.

- What exactly is the origin of the Ancestors from Heroes Chronicles? There's no problem with things like Underworld (it's described as deep tunnels and caves inhabited by demons (a type of monster from Ancient's world, not being anything new to Might and Magic series) and other monsters) or World Tree (it must have been created when Elemental Lords created Enroth), but Ancestors are never clearly explained. It is known that they keep the souls of (at least) barbarians of Enroth with themselves after they die (Paradise) and that they are linked with barbarian people spiritually. One might guess that they are souls of three ancient barbarian heroes from the time around the Silence, now watching over their people, and this explanation comes across as the most plausible, but nothing was properly explain in canon.

- Who killed Alana, daughter of Aliant's Mayor Alan?

- Where did the race of Giants from whom Arslegard gods originated come from to Axeoth? They were among very few MM races that are not Ancients' children, it would be interesting to know from where and why they arrived on Axeoth? (could be answered by Tim Lang)

- What is the precise origin of Armageddon's Blade? It's implied in AB that it was basically reconstructed, and the text popping up when it's picked up on the map mentions it beng in the Ancient vaoult from before the Silence. The Blade was probably a Kreegan weapon of significant Fire Magic power brought to Enroth before the Silence. In the original AB storyline the Armageddon's Blade was an Ancient weapon of sorts and was going to be much more powerful (having wiped out the Forge armies).

- Is the powerful Seer that Falagar's Students consulted with during their saving the planet from Kreegan the Royal Seer from HoMM2? Archibald didn't kill the last Seer, having managed to bribe him.

- The shphynx texts may not be counted as part of canon, but if we take one riddle answer as canonical (the one that names Archibald as the true king), does it mean that the Royal Seer was going to choose Archibald as the heir? Quite an irony, considering that Archibald killed him out of fear of him choosing Roland :) Alternatively, the sphynx may just refer to the fact that Archibald is currently holding the throne (officially) by law (after getting the Seer to choose him).

- Who created the Sword of Frost?

XEL II wrote:- Who was the new king of Erathia appointed by Gen. Kendal? (mentioned in the CotD finale)

Wasn't Queen Catherine suggested as last ruler of Erathia in Lysander campaign in HIV?
She of course pointed Morgal Kendal to be regent and to choose new king (it supposed to be Gelu IIRC some old rumors) but eventually he didn't chose anyone before Reckoning came.

It was probably supposed to be one of weapons came with colonists on Enroth. At least it seems to be logical.

He killed royal seers, not all people who can clairvoyance. This seer is a hermit, so probably Archibald didn't even know about him.

XEL II wrote:- Who created the Sword of Frost?

Probably it came with first colonists and was created by Ancients or their technology. Who knows what secrets came with VARN? After all, one "thing" from Ancient armory "created" Dragonsand desert in one, big boom. Maybe other so powerful artifacts were scattered around world, so incident like that in Day of Fire will not happen again.

Well, it's wasn't quite a reboot... *glares at Ubisoft*

Either that or a space-faring race lesser than the Ancients.
