MnM6 char portraits

Unread postby Lord13 » 10 Jun 2006, 12:41

After few months I decided to play again(i really don't now how many times I finished it:p) one of my favorite games, MnM6. Once again I enjoy that great crpg, but once again I was annoyed by only one thing: the characters' portaits of my party! Why they pick those ugly-real-style faces I really don't know. I want to ask if someone have the knowledge how to "edit" the game's database and help me to create smth like a mod with diffirents portraits(of MnM7-8)which will replace the real ones. I know that is not something easy(and maybe is impossible)but I saw many mods for many games until now, why not and to MnM?? Maybe to some ppl my question/proposal sound silly, but these stupid portraits of MnM6 really anoys me :-p

Maybe mm6view is able to do that. I know that with that you can export the game graphics, but I'm not sure about importing

Yeah those people in the portraits are real pluguglies :)

Looks like they went for a realistic approach, guess they might be based on real people?

No idea how you'd go about changing them though.

They make the funniest comments though.

"Chock one more up for the big guy"

Classic!

Might and Magic 6 had the best portraits. They're hilarious.

Those portraits make me want to throw up whenever I see them
Might and magic VII fixed that.

It is possible and very easy. But takes lots of time. MM7 View is the program you need. ;)

I always supposed that those portraits were real-life 3do employees. :-D

I actually know how to do this, it would be extremely easy, but like someone else said, it would take time. It would just be a matter of importing MM7 portraits, and overwriting the MM6 ones. I do like the one that looks like Xena though, ha ha ha

I actually liked the portraits in MM6 much better than both MM7 and MM8. I seem to be the only one.

Well, I guess the party itself didn't the best ones ever, but the the portraits of all you were talking to was much better than any other MM, in my opinion.
