Hey guys,

I'd like to once again suggest allowing promotions to "Troll" and "Mino" for peasants who match the race. Regeneration trainers still have no allocation, so they'd be perfect for Trolls, but not sure which one to use for Minos - since "Axe" is already for Rangers. The easiest cop-out would probably be allowing Axe trainers to also promote to Minotaur, possibly the dialog option could be hidden unless a Mino peasant is selected, or just have both.

It would be good, there are a couple of houses in Silver Cove that are uninhabited, they could be used for that

ARGH. On not running in HW mode...

Win 11 went to sleep. Didn't come back up properly at all.

Shut it down fully, try to bring back up...first time, antivirus seems stuck in a loop. Second time, System is. As in, pretty high CPU use. NO network ever since it went to sleep.

So right now, I'm resetting it. Lets you keep files...and not much is actually on my system drive. Shouldn't lose much. But DAMN.....we're talking a week old, and I have to do this BS.

Not sure Win 11 is really stable at this point. Which should surprise few of us, but it's still very irritating. Windows gets both less flexible and less stable with each release, it seems.

Already for the 1st time I was able to completely beat the game, and now I have a question. Someone is translating the game in Spanish? I wanted to try modifying for example the "NPCText.txt" extracted from the mmmergeT.lod file to test but the game shows many codes per console and it didn't work.

I agree insofar as Axe is arguably even more defining of Minotaurs than of Rangers. Not sure if the reduction of axe mastery for minos has been restored to GM in the latest patch, but I think it should - every time you see Minos in M&M content from that era, you see them wielding axes after all.

Hello!

I installed this ... a long time ago, I think back when there were only ~200 or so pages on this. Coming back to it, since I randomly saw a video made me want to start up again!

Trying to read through the installation guide, I have a couple questions... I can't find "mm8.exe and mm8setup.exe"(EDIT: I'm a moron, found these two files) files to set in windows xp mode. Similarly, I have no clue what "Copy Merge pack files" is supposed to be? I see "Copy Merge patch files" the patch file, without s, just not sure. (Edit 2: Oh there's no Patch file for the current version [2.5.6] so there's no patch files to copy over. So do I just move the entire folder contents into the base MM8 folder and overright? Edit 3: Wow I really am that stupid... it really is just do that.)

The other thing I was trying to figure out ... before I downloaded a new patch and deleted my old 2.4.1 version is how can I change starting party composition? I know the mod was created so only certain races/classes are available in certain areas. I wanted to start with MM6, but wanted to get a thief or monk or some such in my party.

I'm going to continue to figure out the install guide and if I get it by myself, then I will edit to reflect that, but thanks in advance if anyone is able to assist!

You have to download MMMerge Character selection Race and Classes Unlocker. And you put the txt file inside the tables folder and replace it, with that you should be able to create a party with the race and class you prefer.

Hi all and what to say about the mod! woke up so many memmories! Anyway to the point, made a mistake and started a MM6 game with a f uped setup and couldn't select the right classes for my party. Is there a way to change the classes of my characters from a save game or the debug console?

Console commands most probably can do that (basically anything)
But the other way to change your class could be Cheat Engine. I have used it to change my Character pictures & voices, so it should also support changing a class.
Class should be a 'number' and that number should correspond with "Classes.TXT" under DATA/Tables
GitHub used to keep the package for CHE (no relation to Guevara) so finding the correct memory address/pointer shouldn't be that impossible.

EDIT: Class should be "DOUBLE", instead the usual "4-bit" type.

Thank you! I'll try that! On another issue.. I just completed the knight to cavalier promotion in mm6 but the knight I have is not promoted he still shows as knight.. The portrait is that of a dwarf, maybe this affects it?

Hi there :)

I exported a Map from MM8 just for fun, but it wont load into Blender (import Obj file).
Its just the small cube in the middle but I can see on the right side there is a 7out03.obj loaded in.

Any help would be awesome on why I cannot see the map :)

Never mind I figured it out. I changed the size to 0.02 and now can see it. Thanks anyway :)

If Revamp - questgiver should have new topic instead of the quest one. So promotion can be applied to selected party member.
Promotion quests and promotions themselves were separated. Now completing the promotion quest won't auto-change your party members classes.

Hi all, attempting to download this MMMerge mod after doing some googling after a GOG sale purchase, but unfortunately all the links are down or restricted due to high traffic/downloads. And I see that Karol uploaded an alternative on page 355 of this forum, but that appears to be a slightly outdated version. Is there another link somewhere with the current version, or can one be added?

Neither link worked yesterday, with OneDrive specifically saying it had too much traffic or downloads, I don't remember the specific language it used. But I checked today and it's working again, so seems like we're all good now. Thanks!

Couldn't you just make a torrent and break this cycle of suffering? Merge is popular enough for the torrent to sustain itself.
