Might and magic VII question:

Hi, i have a question, and i hope it is possible, i installed Might and magic VII a while ago, i played it on dark mode, but one day the cd got destroyed inside the hard drive, so i had to fix the computer, and change the Cd- dvd drive
So i am wondering if someone can give me a link to a patch or something, so i can continue the game without the Cd if that is possible.
I know it was possible on Might and magic VI but is it possible on MM VII?
If it is possible can someone give me a link?

I think GF patch allows no cd, try it (besides many other fixes)

Greyface's mod does indeed have a no CD option, but the music won't work without the CD, unless you use the custom MP3 option.

Hi i tried installing the mod, i think i already had it installed from before, but i still need the Cd to play the game, is there a file i am missing or something?

probably :might.vid: or "magic.vid"

just cheak the CD - there must be some files that are reads from CD - just copy them to your directore, correct place.

i checked now, inside the Anims folder i have a file called might7.vid What do i do with that file?

Open up the .ini file in the M&M7 folder, and make sure the NoCD option is checked (should say '=1', not sure what exactly the option is called, read the help file in the grayface mod).

I don`t know what it means? how do i put in the 1?

As for the cds and in-game music. I have to admit that I've never once played MM7 or 8 with in-game music. I don't know a single track of it. Is it possible to have the music run with a virtual cd mounted? That didn't seem to work for me either.

Open it in notepad (rename it .txt at the end to open it, then change it back to .ini extension)

Hi, is there a way someone can fix the file then put it on a page so i can download it, because i tried opening the file, but i can`t understand, because it just says many strange things, i am not sure i am doing it correct


I opened the file in a notepad, but it just says things like:

@andy1694: Open mm7.ini in notepad and make sure that [Settings] group contains line like

NoCD=1

If it contains line

NoCD=0

change it accordingly. If there's no such line, add one to the group.
You're not supposed to edit Magic7.vid in notepad anyway.
@ShadowLiberal: you'd better to not use pronouns where they can be misinterpreted.

I have come a little bit further, now i have found the correct file, i have opened it, and found NoCd1, but when i change it to NoCd0 then i Can`t save the changes, it won`t let me? So how do i save the changed settings?
