Darkside of Xeen music

Unread postby Marzhin » 21 Feb 2010, 12:25

Hello all !

I wanted to put the music of MM5 - Darkside of Xeen on my portable mp3 player (I already have almost all the soundtracks of all the other M&M games on it :hoo: ) but when I try to convert the original midi files to mp3 myself the results are quite bad (mainly because my soundcard is not so good).

So do you know if there are mp3 versions of the tunes from Darkside of Xeen somewhere on the internet ?

Thanks in advance for any hint ;)

Hi, Marzhin, I could only find midi files so I converted them and uploaded here. I hope that these are the correct music tracks and that the quality is acceptable. ;)

I tried the exact same thing some time ago and had a similar result - they didn't sound great as .mp3s. It's a pity, but hopefully just down to my shoddy conversion software.

Well, if you have it in the midi format, you could send it to my e-mail arturchix at yahoo dot com and I'll convert it as well if the quality was OK. :)

This is the best MIDI converter I have seen so far:
http://www.pistonsoft.com/midi2mp3.html
It allows you to use soundfonts which give you a lot better sound than that Microsoft GS Wave Synthesizer thing you get on Windows without a soundcard. Here's an example:
