You can't sell special items - it's game mechanism not bug.

Interesting, especially therefore artifacts and relics are possible to sell. Why specials not?

Because they are special? ;P

Well, artifacts and relics are random loot items. Special items are always placed in same location AND they are not in loot table (as far as I know).

You can't sell them because you might never be able to get them back. Although that doesn't prevent them from being dropped into the sea :D

Maybe it is possible to store special items in special place other than party inventory? The party space is limited...

You have lots of chests in Castle Harmondy to store junk, quest items, genie lamps and/or alchemy ingredients.

Don't those respawn if your Castle gets upgraded though?

I think no - I don't remember any problems with missing items from those chests (opposite to MM8).

Nope, it does not. Otherwise all the goblins would respawn, too.

It's completely useless to store things in chests in MM8 - just dump them on the unused characters in the adventurers' inn. They're 100% safe there.

The only sellable special items are blasters :)
My patches: MM6 MM7 MM8. MMExtension. Tools. Also, I love Knytt Stories and Knytt Underground. I'm also known as sergroj.

Can you break special items, though? I don't think anyone can repair them, so it wouldn't make much sense if they did break?

Actually, one of my blaster DID break in my recent MM6 game (by the dragons in dragonsand), and my paladin (level7 master repair) repaired it without a problem.

I also think I broke quite a few special items in MM7 if I remember correctly, since they couldn't be hardened.

Of course you can break them. And only way to fix them is your repair item skill.

Like any other item, though if memory serves you don't need any skill to repair it, right click by any char solves the deal. Blasters on other hand requires quite high skill, if I remember correctly in mm6 my team could repair most of the stuff while they couldn't do blasters, i had to increase skill by one or two points. In fact i think blasters didn't even count as special items, just another item type just like sword or pole-arm.

IIRC, Elven Chainmail can be broken, and Armorers refuse to repair it. "You know that it's not broken", - they say.

Yes, you can break Blasters and repair them in shops for 1 gold I think, but I was wondering if that was the reason for blasters being sellable.

Most likely, to make it simpler, then again I really wonder logic of the game that allows future tech to be repaired at local blacksmith. When i first broke blaster I initially was bit desperate on how to fix it since I automatically assumed that smelly peasants of enroth wouldnt be able to fix star trek level stuff, was quite surprised when New Sorpigal weapon smith proved me wrong.
