ok. so i like the default UI the game comes with and didn't realize that the patch changed it. how do i change it to swap back to the default UI and keep everything else?

Remove UILayout line from mm8.ini. I just realized I forgot to mention it in the readme.
My patches: MM6 MM7 MM8. MMExtension. Tools. Also, I love Knytt Stories and Knytt Underground. I'm also known as sergroj.

Hi. Thanks a lot for this patches. I've used them in MM6 and MM/ and they are amazing.

I have began MM8 game with 2.3.1 patch. It is working perfectly but I have an issue.
Playing with the game normally, without UI layout, I can see the cutter names (tree, plant, etc...) But when using 2.3.1 patch I do not see this elements. I can see houses, people, wells, barrels, usable items, fountains, entrances/exits, but not the clutter common items.

Am I doing something wrong? I think this items are the ones in ddeclist.bin.

Only in Software mode, no matter with or without patch.

Oh, what a shame. So, it is different as in MM7, right? I remember I can see the clutter items names with D3D.

Is there any possibility you can add this in your mod and work in HW mode?

They've probably done it deliberately, because sprites were targeted disregarding their shape, so fighting among trees must have been really annoying with them always getting in the way. It's also good for flexible UI, because the hint doesn't show and hide as often.

Hi, I have a problem with all your patches (2.0 and 2.3.1 tested) on Windows 10. I can normally run clear game but with your patch I can enter main menu, creation of character and game have crash after clicking to start playing. I found this problem after move with M&M games from my PC with Win8 to laptop with Win10, so I think it is some problem with compatibility of your patch with newest system. Should it work on it?

Ps. Also I noticed that bug is only for completly new game. When I loaded old saved games it works.

I use a laptop also and I have two integrated vgas. One from Intel and another from Nvidia. I have solved some problems limiting the vars:

WindowWidth=1920
WindowHeight=1080
RenderMaxWidth=1920
RenderMaxHeight=1080

(and press F4 for FullScreen).

Also, maybe it is needed to change the DeviceID detected in registry. Normally the MMSetup finds the Intel one, and I must change it to the Nvidia, which is not detected with MMSetup.

Ok, thats weird. In 2.0 Patch I just changed in MM8Setup Video settings to hardware (I also have Nvidia and Intel but there was only Intel) after launch game was looking disgusting ;P (very weird colors and tight screen). I cloded it and when I run Setup again there was no option to choose hardware for video and now everything in game is working ;P

In 2.3.1 Patch on hardware mod game is working normal, just interface was changed. But after reload Setup there is also no option to choose hardware again.

Hello,
I have a problem using Your patch and trying to achieve the same display quality (textures and widescreen). Basically, I don't understand how to do it and I've lost couple of hours bashing a wall...

I have a GOG version of M&M8, patch v2.3.1 installed however my patched game looks exactly the same as original one.
I'm using LG with 2560x1080 resolution, but my game stays in standard format of 640x480 in fullscreen (stretched to the top and bottom of my monitor).
When I change to windowed mode it looks really terrible (and I have to change colors from 32 bits to 16 in monitor preferences because it crashes displaying: "Exception Exception in module mm8.exe at 0009DD06. Init - Failed to create D3D device.")

Also using "BorderlessFullscreen=1" is causing mouse clicking errors (like I can't click on items properly, because game thinks that my cursor is somewhere else...).
I've tried to change some values in mm8.ini but none of them gave me the desired result...
(eg. WindowWidth=-1 and WindowHeight=1080)

/Windows 7 + Radeon HD 5650/

Please help!
